Texas Scramble for the Final Whistle Trophy
Yet again we had the best of the week’s weather for our Texas Scramble competition for the ‘Final Whistle Trophy’. 15 members and 5 guests teed off at El Plantio on a beautiful though slightly blustery day. The course today was in very good condition, with the greens running slower than I can remember for a considerable time. This led to some very good scoring and play, with a couple of our lower handicap guests showing the way.
Congratulations to the team of John Moss, Geoff Marlow, Bill Street and guest Paul Stephenson, on winning the trophy with a total of 73 net 64.1. The 3 members each received a €15 voucher, whilst Paul received a Baldricks hat + 6 golf balls.
A very close second were; Dave Cooper, Ken Corcoran, Andy Giles, each receiving a €10 voucher and guest Steve Bolton - a hat and 6 golf balls.
Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the day and playing the ever popular Texas Scramble format.
On completion it was back to the Final Whistle for the presentations and buffet. Thanks to Linda & Mel and a special thanks for an excellent Chilli to Stella.
A scratch card raised €15 for our charity, thanks to all for taking part.
