I think La marina started out as rough brush land for goats etc to graze on them in the early 80s it was developed into a housing estate the largest in Europe at that time,house prices will Maybe need some clarification with this one,starting at just £8995 for a 1 bed terrace upwards.
 I remember seeing a MASA advert in the south east of England (local press advert)for a detached villa "ROSA" priced at £14995,the area was to have bars etc and swimming pools hillside being the 1st one maybe based on a working mens club? 
 I have met some of the original residents some likened themselves as pioneers or settlers as there was one phone line at the top entrance to the urb and just a small smattering of bars shops etc phase 4 was still to be built, some say the best times they had and for the area was in the late 1990s early 2000s when everyone was out enjoying the sun,fun etc the area had to offer.
 This being as most did not need to work and there needs/expectations were not as great as to-days owners, the majority/most of the properties were made up of small "Josephina" style terraces or detached "rosa" villas no air con/pools etc.
 La marina is still a great place but seems to have evolved around "the want want" with bigger villas pools etc but at old Spanish prices with the want of UK wages to fund it maybe the old settlers/pioneers were more financially secure and just enjoyed what they had rather than moan about what they didn't have, no tv/phones/broadband etc and made the most of the place, what is your views and can anyone add to the history of the place as my above recollections maybe a little out
