I think it may be something with paying for the leads. I'm assuming your not directly emailing them. For an A/C Service of one unit it would be about €30. I'm not sure about how much the leads cost but it may eat into the profit margin.

Yes you are right €3 as a donation to charity for a lead is going to effect the profits of all of the businesses that advertise free on this site.

Glad we agree. I was merely highlighting a possible reason to Dee why she may not have got a reply, rather than English Trades couldn't be bothered to reply.

How many times have we heard of trades people not turning up or charging vast amounts of money for very little work. I for one are in favor of what Steve and a spanish life are doing to try and stop this kind of thing happening.
Having been living here in Spain for 10 years and you would think by now I would have heard every horror story when it comes to trades men and people been ripped off but alas I still here this on a weekly basis. So again Steve and a spanish life carry on the good work ! it all helps the community spirit !
Just a thought would it be possible for people to post when they have had a bad experience to name and shame ,hopefully this would stop them in there tracks and safe guard people being hood winked in the future.
Equally if you have had a GOOD SERVICE please post. We all could do with a little praise sometimes !

I might have missed it - so apologies if I have but when registering services I didnt see the 3 euro lead charge (which I hasten to add is not an issue) and also what charity you are currently supporting.

Love the recommend a tradesman idea. The more personal recommendations a person gets must be a postive! People in general are quick enough to moan about bad service but forget to praise where appropriate too.

In responce to John´s offer of service, l trust you will be offering a legal service as l do and have done for the past 9 years, which costs me €284.00 monthly to keep my autonomos (self employment) up to date, in addition my asesoria fees also have to be paid. It appears to be a fact that many ex-pats are quick enough to complain about work being taken from them back in the UK by non tax paying working foreigners, but as soon as they arrive here on these sunny shores, their attitudes change somewhat. As readers might have gathered by now, l get more than a bit mifted by those who are non tax paying tradesmen, so called, or other, that take work from me and those others that do the right thing by the country we live in.

...If people do have a bad experience or not receive a reply, then maybe Steve or whoever runs this site can delete the service provider therefore keeping the Services page for reliable and trustworthy people, otherwise users will start to be reluctant to use people on the services page.
