Speaking of making savings in council expenditure, does anyone else agree with me, that a BIG saving could be made by simply removing a considerable percentage of the streetlight bulbs on the urb, or reducing the wattage? I am sure that many roads would be perfectly safe enough with less lights on, especially, for example the uninhabited roads leading off the urb (one towards "Iceland" & the one with the musical fence - in fact, do these roads need to be lit at all?). Just have a look at the urb from afar and it's surely over illuminated. Could save money and help save the planet!
