Haven't been on for quite a while but I think this will get everyone riled up.

 Al here from Temptations:
My wife, Susan just called to inform me that a member of our town council has just given us a warning that the NATIONAL POLICE are now here in La Marina & will be TOTALLY SHUTTING DOWN ALL THE MUSIC, i.e. DISCO & KARAOKE & LIVE ACTS, from ALL establishments that have been providing this entertainment!
Well, that will pretty much finish off a lot of the bars & restaurants on the urb.
I am at odds as to why the very few moaners & complainers have won their personal battle against the establishments that have had to provide some sort of entertainment just to survive this very long-lasting & serious recession. We have all agreed to install sound-proofing in some cases, kept our windows & doors shut after midnight & in some locations, have shut them as early as 10:00 P.M., & generally, kept the volume down to reasonable levels so as not to disturb the few born-complainers that have made this issue a personal VENDETTA against the establishments that are only trying to make a sad existance in these very tough times.
Speaking for our Establishment only, we have seen the population of La Marina Urb. decrease dramatically over the past 4 years. Not only because of the recession, but we are being told from MANY holiday makers that there is nothing to do here because of the police intervention with the noise. Of course, the police are only doing what they are told to do. Many of the holiday makers have summer villas here that is shared amoungst the many family members & their friends when the come here to holiday. On MANY occasions, I have been told they are NOT coming back because this place is boring. A lot of them go over to other towns, Rojales, Guadamar, Benimar, Benijofar & others & have a great time enjoying Spanish hospitality. I wonder why these towns don't have any noise problems?
It's a whole different story here in La Marina though.
As many of you who have been here for some time, I know what you must be thinking as a few of you have posted messages here on this web-site as to your feelings about the noise issue over the years. I haven't read a lot of complaints lately & I was presuming that we have settled the issue with our neighbours. Apparently, this isn't so. I cannot believe that a few habitual MOANERS have taken their complaints to Valencia & are bound & determined to pretty much destroy the livelihoods of the bar & restaurant owners that have worked their a**es off to provide themselves a small sense of living here in Spain.

YOU FEW SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELVES!!!!!

I would like to propose that the residents here in the urbanisation expose these few people, & shame them as the cowards they are. These few people have succeeded with their incessant complaints to the Valencian Authorities & after all the constant moaning, they have had to finally send a team to investigate & shut down ALL musical entertainment here on the urb. I HOPE YOU ARE PROUD OF YOURSELVES!! I DID NOT COME HERE TO SPAIN TO OPEN A BAR & BECOME RICH OVERNIGHT AS SOME OF YOU THINK RUNNING A BAR IS THAT REWARDING!!! It is one of the toughest ways to just trying to survive in these trying times without having to provide some type of entertainment to attract a few people to be able just to pay the bills. Forget trying to put a few euros into the savings account!!! Everything, IVA, rents, electric, water, food & liquor costs continually rise but we have kept our prices amoungst the lowest in the Costa Blanca because there are people on fixed retirement incomes here.
A few bar owners here have gone way over the top to provide a little class in the form of some very good musical acts. Other bar owners that do not have the space for this type of entertainment have provided Disco & Karaoke to try to make a little money. I guess the few of you constant complainers haven't got anything better to do as you must have had or are having a very sad existance in your later years.
I just hope that the MAJORITY of the people here in La Marina that want to have entertainment will do something about this as we bar owners cannot do any more than we have done this far. I KNOW that some of you good people know who these habitual complainers are & name them & shame them!

Thank you for all the past 6 1/2 years of support from the residents & holiday makers. We just hope we will be able to provide the great times & entertainment (& ice cream!) in the future.

Alan & Susan Anders, Temptations Ice Cream & Bar
