Just received this copied from local press  I am in UK recovering from a stroke and injuries incurred when my Mobility Scooter toppled over trying to leave my property in Oasis.
 Enough is enough, can someone tell me how to SUE the previous administration or the individuals concerned who authorised the digging up our infrastructure and leaving us in a hovel, I am sure the EX Mayor and councilors that voted this through have enough capital put aside to contribute to correcting their errors, either voluntary or forcibly through the courts even if we have to go all the way to Europe to get justice.

 Storm over subsidy for El Oasis street lights
 Long-suffering residents have had no proper roads or sanitation since 1980s 
 
 San Fulgencio opposition parties have objected to a subsidy to install street lighting in
 El Oasis urbanisation which the town hall obtained from the provincial government.
 Residents of the area have been battling since it was built in the 1980s because the builder
 left the roads unfinished and there was no sewage system,amongst other problems.
 The previous council had insisted that under regional land law the owners of the 500 or so
 homes there would have to pay for the work, in order for the town hall to then take over responsibility for its maintenance.
 But the cost of the project came to five million euros and residents were facing embargoes if
 they refused  to pay protested angrily they could not afford it.
 The current Partido Popular-PIPN administration claims to have found a more agreeable
 solution that will cost the residents €1.75 million and also obtained a €300,000 grant to install
 new street lighting.
 However the Socialist (PSOE) and APSFU opposition claim this public money cannot
 be used for an urbanisation that is effectively private and have registered objections with
 the provincial government.
 They alleged that mayor Carlos Ramirez was trying to 'fool' the provincial government.
 "The mayor cannot use public money intended for the benefit of all San Fulgencio
 Residents will have to pay for these works, they claimed.
 This subsity will only benefit homeowners in that area as the work is an improvement
 exclusively to their private plots."
 The opposition also alleged that the residents have been fooled into believing that the
 mayor can resolve all their problems when 'all he will achieve is delaying the works
 and making them more expensive'.
 The mayor told CBNews that the urbanisation is registered in the Town Hall as " Urban Cenre" II' and therefore is 'not private.
 He insisted that the PSOE and APSFU took no interest in El Oasis as there are only 60-70
 permanent residents there who vote."I cannot tolerate that taxpaying residents have the
 worst roads in Spain," he insisted.
 "I have had calls from disabled residents who can't even get out of their homes."
 Sr Ramirez explained that his administration has had 'more than 15' meetings with
 residents, who agreed by an 80% majority  80% majority at an assembly to
 accept his council's plan.He explained it is necessary to carry out the work in stages
 as there is so little money available,at the moment, but assured he will keep applying for
 subsidies to help pay for the work.
 The sewage network has already been installed, the next step is surfacing the roads and
 then the street lights, before addressing the deficient drinking water and electricity networks,
 he said. "I find it incredible that any opposition would object to a subsidy for residents," asserted the mayor.
 "They just don't want the PP/PIPN to get a medal for this
 
 I must finally add when I purchased in Oasis over 5 years ago, there were all facilities up and running,    Roads, Pavements, Street lighting, it was an older Urbanisation small but content, and we have been paying our Taxes to San Fulgencio Council for the upkeep of Oasis and all La Marina not just the village where it seems all the monies that could be accounted for was spent.
