 Corvera Airport gains approval as Schengen Area border entry point
 
 The new Corvera International Airport has gained approval as an official entry point for the Schengen Area, allowing it to receive flights from outside the Schengen Area borders. This was achieved after an inspection during June by the Agencia Estatal de Seguridad Aérea (AESA - "State Agency for Air Security"), relating to control of traffic and immigration security controls, etc. This is important, not only to receive flights from the UK (which is outside the Schengen Area), but those from elsewhere - I have read various reports over the months that flights from certain countries in Latin America may wish to use Corvera Airport. It has also met the requirements for air transport within the Schengen Area.
