Saturday Morning off early to Calpe for the 1st Leg of the annual Parlamar Trophy, The weather was good and the Calpe Bowlers were very friendly, After the Match we went to the Restaurant at the side of the Bowls green to have a very nice lunch and a few drinks. Maureen Kidd won the Bottle of Brandy for winning the Spider.Rex kept us entertained (did not think much of his singing) but the moment Maureen opened the Brandy we did not see or hear from him again. We shared the match two rinks each.Winning rinks Hillary Cronk, Richard Robinson, Chris Lomas, Skip Bill Jamieson Won 21-16. Viv Zelin, Arthur Cronk, Derek Shirley, Skip Brian Zelin Won 21-10. The other two Rinks were very close but just missed out.Shot Difference was Plus 12 in La Marina's favour, Now we look forward to welcoming Calpe to La Marina for the second leg sometime in the new year. Wednesday Morning fun day was won by Ron Chadwick, Marie Smith, Skip Richard Robinson, With a Plus 11 Score. Well done to the 3 of them. The Valencian Championship has now started and I am sure that all of La Marina Bowls Club would like to wish the best of luck to everyone that has entered it.I will keep you all informed with any results that I am given.
