I would like to raise my concern on charity events. I have been residing in La Marina for almost five years. Like many of us enjoying our retirements, I have always been fond of charity events. My concern as a charitable person is the lack of proof shown to us contributors and the acknowledgement of the charities revceiving this very needed financial support. It has come to my attention that due to recent function on which I have participated in, that there is a huge possibility due to finacial problems, that local businesses are possibly putting the money into their own bank accounts. Normally in these events a presentation of the money being handed over is done. I am very concerned that us locals could quite frankly be helping struggling businessss, whom may well be ripping us off, "all in the name of charity'. I intend to look into this further as a recent fundraising event named a charity that to my knowledge and endless searches on the internet does not exist. I am interested in hearing the opinions of others concerning this matter.
