It is with much regret that Cagney's Bar has to inform all our loyal customers that our music on Friday and Sunday evenings has been suspended for the foreseeable future, in light of the latest farce in La Marina. We too received a visit from the town hall and were told that we had to stop our music immediately. Unfortunately the so called "moaners" have won. They have bypassed the local police and put their complaints direct to Valencia. Valencia contacted mayor Carlos a couple of days ago saying they were going to deal with the situation themselves as they are fed up that La Marina gets more complaints than anywhere else. Anyone caught with live music will have their bar closed down by the nationales. For ourselves and our regular customers who love to be entertained by quality artists it is a sad sad day. I totally agree with the name and shame idea. This handful of extremely selfish people should be ashamed of themselves. Rick and I live very close to the Consum square and we can hear the music at night but it's of no bother to us. We like to see La Marina alive. 
 Cagney's bar pays over 2000E a month in taxes, IVA, staff contracts & for 2 autonomos. If we are closed down that is 24,000 Euros a year less for the police and the town council. This money would have to be found by other means such as increasing everybody's suma. Can you imagine the uproar that would cause amongst the residents? There would be a hue and cry!!! So a simple message to all is STOP the denuncias as you are wrecking the urb and decreasing the value of everyone's homes as La Marina will become a ghost town. Ricky and I do not work 16 hours a day to have our livelihood ruined by people who want to be in bed by 9pm every night on a silent urb. If you don't like it MOVE!!!! Just think on. 
 Our sincere apologies to our regulars whose evenings have now been spoilt. We can only apologise but thank you for your continued support.
