Bogus Gasmen

Hi All,

As you are all probably aware, the bogus gasmen are back and ripping off unsuspecting people by carrying out "legitimate" work for unbelievably high prices. A friend of mine has told me about what happened to their friends (who are aged 92 & 91) on Saturday. Not only did they charge them 240€ to replace just 2 gas pipes and 2 regulators, but their method of gaining entry really pushes the boundaries of belief. When 1 of the men was found (by the husband who is 92) inside the garden, he calmly explained that he "Had climbed over the wall, as the gate was locked, and they had not answered the doorbell and they knew that they were at home". Can you believe it.

These guys are nothing but scum, and I hope that they have the misfortune of calling at my house and giving themselves access to my garden!! In the meantime my friends are reporting this incident to the police, but I don't hold out much hope that anything will happen.

The local Police drove past my house last week whilst the 2 bogas Gas guys stood at my gate, the Polce totally ignored them, maybe friends ot related.

I cannot believe the audacity of these scumbags!! Not only did they rip off, these 2 lovely elderly people on Saturday, but they decided to visit them again today, this time with their "Jefe". We assume that this was to extort more money from them. Fortunately, our other friends were at home, around the corner, on this occasion and were able to get to them in time. Apparently, they had climbed over the wall again and this time even let themselves into the house (pushing past the 91 year old wife). Fortunately, there was also a Police officer (visiting his parents from another area) who helped with communicating with the local police and Guardia, and I understand that denuncias are now in the process of being served.

I cannot believe how these people can live with themselves, and all that I can hope is that they meet with a very serious "accident" in the very near future.

If they come round to our villa I will help with the serious "accident" and they will need "gas and air" to help get the feeding tube in for there on going treatment

Just one last word of warning on this matter. At the end of the 1st visit, they made the elderly couple sign "a receipt" to confirm that they had carried out the work etc. We've now found out (with the help of the police and Jeff's team) that this was in fact a contract for them to come back and do the work (i.e. fleece them!!) on a regular basis. There is now a very strongly worded letter on the way to this scumbag company, cancelling the contract and telling them to keep well away. Besides this, the police are now dealing with the matter of the unlawful entry.

In order to name and shame them the company's name is PREVENCION E INNOVACION DEL GAS S.L. and are based at C General Millan Astray, 58 Bajo 3, 03008 Alicante.
