Spanish Intercambio in Quesada?

Do any Spanish/English groups meet up in Quesada? I know that there are a few different language schools, but I am only interested in intercambio.

Quesada

I am not sure, but if you find out please let me know? as I am new here and interested in learning Spanish. Also does anyone know of a regular social dance? I think it was on a Friday night? I saw it on here about a year ago that there was a dance attended by over 50 single people over 40 years old every Friday night. Thanks Pamela.

If you want to learn Spanish, you can register for lessons at the Cultural Centre in Quesada. You need to go there during September to register, with you NIE and passport. The lesson up till now have been free. You will have to buy 2 books for the lessons which you will work through. I've been doing them since I arrived and am now in year 4. But only Spanish is spoken no english or any other language, this does put some people off.

Thank you very much for your replies. I think that maybe I should have explained myself better.

I have a house in Spain, which I visit three times a year - for a month at a time. I can speak Spanish reasonably well (I don't really want lessons) but what I would like to do is to keep my conversational Spanish going, and hopefully within a mixed group of Spanish and English speakers. The English helping the Spanish improve their English and vice versa.
Many thanks

Try visiting a proper Spanish bar like El Faro (near Consum) where they actually take the time to speak to you and its frequented by Spanish & English alike

I often pop into El Faro for coffee/snack and a chat when I'm over there. The owner told me that she had organised intercambio sessions (they were free) in the past. They were very popular, (I think that they proved TOO popular!!) but, from what I gathered, they became too much work. I could be wrong! I am coming out to Spain again in September and was hoping to find something for then.
Many Thanks for all the suggestions

I know of singles groups which meet up in Quesada, but I don't know of any which are connected to ballroom dancing.

Regarding Spanish, I used to go to Berlingua in Dona Pepa, for lessons. Every now and then I will drop in to their conversation classes (no lessons - and you have to have a reasonable standard of Spanish as only Spanish spoken!!)

Monday afternoons at The Club on Quesada next to bowling green. The caddilacs live band and dancing, I think its rock/ jive/ceroc type dancing definately social!

Give it a go, it starts at 2pm safe and respectable time me thinks for a lady going out on her own. Hope you enjoy it, ive never been but do hear its a good gig?

When you are out and about, look out for the magazine called Pastimes, it is dedicated to not for profit clubs and associations. There are a number of clubs for single people especially over 50 years. It comes out in the middle of the month (it will be out in the next few days) and it gives you lots of information about what is out there that might interest you. Hope you find something you can enjoy.
