No Souxie we have not had another letter yet but I probably will. I did contact Iberswitch about different people taking money for electricity from our Bank Account. I did get some sort of explanation back, but, If anyone else takes any more money out, other than the current provider, I will go to our Bank and get it put back in our account. Have you had the same thing happen to you?
Hi Eve no not yet - I had a letter back in Sept telling me I needed to pay 137 euros or my electric would be cut off by 13th Nov - now I get another one with the same threat different date - Iberswitch say oh dont worry and ignore it, but I am getting worried now and of course no one works at Iberswitch at the weekend. They havent attempted to take it from the bank as yet
Souxie Iberdrola will not take it out of your bank account. I have had about 4 letters from them. If another one arrives, like the last two, I refuse to sign for them. I have kept my e-mails from Iberswitch telling me I don't owe this money and, if I e-mail them, I send a copy to myself to keep for reference.
Thank you Eve for your advice xx
Take a look at the bottom of the letter you should see, in small print a line saying if you have already paid another supplier you can ignore the letter. They added this so that they cannot be accused of harasment. According to a postman they are delivering thousands of these letters. Iberdrola seem to be trying to frighten people into returning to them, or get them to pay when they do not need to. If you get another letter throw i away. If you get a registered letter you can refuse to sign for it, this is what a S panish lawyer has told me.
I somehow received what looked like 3 Iberdrola bills during October, E59 at the start, E175 in the middle and toward the end another E171. So I went to my bank to check if these amounts had been direct debited to Iberdrola. I was kindly informed that only one bill had been paid for the E171, boy I was so relieved. Apparently they send out notifications that are exactly the same as the factura bills, except they do not name the bank the money will be withdrawn from This is my only instance of this sort, but I hope it is not repeated as it caused me a lot of stress.
