The new team at Rojos

let me add to this comment, we were offered another year at Rojos, we have built up the business over the past year and until Tina and John pay us back all the money they owe us we wont be handing back any keys. However we will both be moving to another place and Sheralyns sunday luches will carry on as normal. Also our Christmas day menu will still be there for all the 42 people who have booked. Even though we were offered another contract we will move on. Thank you to all the fantastic people who have supported us and we will be back. Jez and Shez

So are you saying they owe you money and wont pay up, or are you meaning they have money owing to you, due to you on leaving (but have not yet paid you) two different things but both could have an affect on the bar if misconstrude by the gossip mongers

Commented 2nd Casa in La Marina 2013-11-24 13:16:10 UTC

Exactly, money is not owed, until the bar is handed back in good condition, nothing lost or broken and the keys are returned!

I cannot believe what I have just read with the above Post /Comment re "important news regarding Rojos"
Firstly it has the audacity of starting off by saying " to inform all our loyal customers and friends" how can you say this?" Tina, you went back to England for goodness knows how many months last year leaving the business in the very, very capable hands of Sheralyn and Jez. We came in a couple of times before they managed it for you and it was OK , but only that "OK" You looked to be a nice lady ( I now know after reading the above that looks can be deceptive) your son was also a likeable enough young man, but his heart wasn't in it and he really didn't seem to know what he was doing. However, everybody has to learn so allowances were made. You then employed Sheralyn and the food was good, in fact very good. Then along came Jez who did a few shifts for you. These two breathed new life into a comparatively new business, but one that was dying on its feet before they came into the equation. You went back to England and they managed it for a few months while you were there. The food was fantastic, the service, front of house, the welcome and ambience brilliant. It was a totally different place. They both worked tirelessly for you . Their ready willingness, constant Cheerfulness and darned hard work they put in must have been the biggest asset to your business that you could ever have. They must have brought you loads of new business in as the news travelled fast that here was a couple who knew what they were doing and they were great at it and wonderfully friendly. When they took over last year on a years contract, there were so many people, like me who were over the moon. This is why I find it so difficult to hear you thank " your loyal customers and friends" when they are loyal because of Sheralyn and Jez's doing and NOT YOURS. You deserted your business, your customers and your friends, Sheralyn and Jez haven't
However, when we called in yesterday for a drink and to book for Sunday lunch, they had received your email wanting them out by next Sunday even though you had agreed only a few weeks ago to let them have another years contract.
What sort of a person would do that, knowing they were fully booked for Christmas and that New Year was looming up as well.
I like to think I'm not a nasty person and I find it very hard to say this, but I do so because of this dreadful thing you have done. I hope your business fails, that people like me will totally boycott you and people will stay loyal to the two people who have built their business up by their sheer hard work only to have it snatched away from them by you two who as far as I can see are try to reap the benefits of Sheralyn and Jez's hard work.
You totally disgust me and hopefully loads more people will feel the same and I will try and get round as many people as I can to let them know what has happened.
I wish for everything to happen that you deserve to . Normski

Commented normskilittle in La Marina 2013-11-24 15:58:34 UTC

totally agree we will never go to Rojos again, Jez and Shaz let us know as soon as you can where you will be from now on

Commented Linda in La Marina 2013-11-24 17:23:52 UTC

Normski how sad that you feel the need to express yourself publicly like this. If you feel the couple who are leaving have been treated badly I admire that you wish to show your support but not in such a vitriolic way. You remaks seemed to me a personal attack on the first couple, even wishing harm to their business. Remember, this is between Jezscapes and Rojo's and Jezscapes remarks are understandable I find yours very bitter and offensive. Yes, vote with your feet and express your opinion but I feel you went overboard. I rarely use the forum now as I find there are too many people using it to state their nasty opinions. I came on today to ask for help, which I was given and Carol had posted a very funny joke. I'm old and feel unhappy to read this kind of thing. Here endeth the first lesson The lovely Mary Catherine xx

Tina, this bar is in better condition and has a better reputation than when you left it, when we took it over we had to pay you before we took it over, the bar is better now than it ever was. you must have been planning this for weeks, well from the reaction today wait and see. YOU don't have a business, watch us now take it with us. you will NOT get any keys until you pay our money back. you have used us to have a year off and think you can get away with it. You wont, Id like to thank all the people who have shown us support the last few days with offers of help and disbelief, You couldt run it last time and you wont this time. Cant wait to get out of here, We have owed nothing at all to anyone, you have overcharged us for water and maybe electricity. PAY US BACK and ill never have anything to do with you again and talking to many people neither will they,

Commented [email protected] in La Marina 2013-11-24 17:42:14 UTC

one weeks notice is simply NOT ON, we wanted to keep the bar and you urged us to sign knowing full well you had other plans, we will move to better things.

Commented [email protected] in La Marina 2013-11-24 17:49:54 UTC

Reading through the comments above surely the owners employed "The right people to do the job" and then let them take over for a year on a contract that sounds like a good deal for both, leaving the bar at the end of the contract but what would be said if they had ruined the bar etc then walked away. It does seem a bit harsh the way things are being portrayed, as the owner put in people to manage the bar and run it to a high standard that I would think is the name of the game

Commented 2nd Casa in La Marina 2013-11-24 18:12:38 UTC

I can't believe people would be so pathetic as to attack someone personally on a networking site. Tina, John AND her 'young son' worked tirelessly to get Rojos up and running and in my opinion did an amazing job in such a short period of time!
Surely the whole point in a 'years contract' is exactly that! It is then the "owners" right to either renew or let the current tenants go, weather it be to return and carry on with the business themselves or employee new staff. It's obvious to me jez and shez are just bitter at the fact it hasn't been renewed. Surely it would be in your best interest to leave with a little bit of dignity than to hang your personal issues out to dry for everyone to read. Hardly professional (perhaps the reason your contract wasn't renewed) anyways your childish behaviour is of no interest so I will leave by wishing Tina, John and the new staff all the luck with the business and we will be in as soon as it's back in your capable hands.

Commented carrie_simon in La Marina 2013-11-24 18:49:06 UTC

Just to put things straight, we didn't manage the bar we paid close on seven grand to go in, we have invested lots in new equipment over the last year in the belief that our contract would be renewed, in fact the contract from the first year gave the option to renew on the contract, John and Tina even pressured us to resign a few weeks ago. So we invested even more money in the bar. But there you go, onwards and upwards

Commented [email protected] in La Marina 2013-11-24 20:00:21 UTC

Might I suggest that you keep money issues and contract details private and discuss these with the owners. Advertising things like that is very unprofessional and I'm not sure what you expect to gain by doing so. If it is a reaction from the owners I'm pretty sure by now you will have realised they are not responding to your pathetic attempts of an online argument.

Commented carrie_simon in La Marina 2013-11-24 20:17:22 UTC

well to be honest we have been promised another year, given one week by email and its not your money is it, we will never get the money we have paid out to try and improve things so I suggest you mind your own business, my partner has put hours and hours into this bar to build it up. How do you think that makes her feel

Commented [email protected] in La Marina 2013-11-24 22:47:34 UTC

Putting in the hours is what the job entails so no I have no sympathy for your partner. Your contract was for a year therefore at the end of a contract you should expect it to be either renewed or in this case not! I'm not sure why you are so bitter about this, that's just how it goes and if your really that peeved why not BUY your own business that way any money paid in with be beneficiary to yourself. You were never the owners of Rojos you simply took it on for a year!

Commented carrie_simon in La Marina 2013-11-25 09:41:45 UTC

Jescapes your the one airing your business on a public forum....and now your telling people to mind there own business ! Pot / Kettle comes to mind!

Commented Poppy in La Marina 2013-11-25 09:59:40 UTC

If you put in more and over the call of duty thats your look out and fault, you cant expect other people to pay you back for your choices, and if you knew what the contract was and was happy with its contents etc when you paid your money then you also knew what the end contract would be. So its no use trying to want more out of it than there is, bleating about like a stuck pig on the www. open forum is not really the way to do it unless you are prepared for the views and comment of the www. its a jungle out there and you feel you are a wounded tiger from that bed of roses that has now shown its thorns happy hunting in the future tiger, you may find another golden goose but dont feather its nest to much in the future as it may not lay the golden eggs you expect and kick out the nest.

Commented 2nd Casa in La Marina 2013-11-25 12:42:22 UTC

OO my goodness, unbelievable!!!! Chez & Jez have worked wonders in the past year, we have eating there many times with different family and friends, but more importantly, they have help me to raise a lot of money for S.A.T. animal trust by hosting 3 BBQ in the summer and we are having a Christmas Fete there (in Rojos) this Saturday, 30th November.

Now to hear they have to leave the premises as soon as our fete is over ........ well I have no words to describe how I feel, but be reassured if Chez & Jez get a different premises myself, hubby, family and many friends will be moving with you two and I know we can set up our S.A.T. events next year & continue to support a great couple.

Commented Linda Reed in La Marina 2013-11-25 15:52:18 UTC

I know in the past Tina hosted charity events and I'm sure on her return, herself and the new staff will continue to do so and support any charity they are asked to help with!

Commented carrie_simon in La Marina 2013-11-25 18:01:15 UTC

I am not going to get involved in this debate. Only to say that everytime any sort of dispute appears on this forum a new name crops up with a comment, normally these people never appear again and I am always dubious as to who these people really are and do they appear under different names at different times. I have learnt to take the comments they make with a piece of salt, I hope other regular people who comment on this forum take notice of the names as well.
only my personal opinion.

Commented Alan in La Marina 2013-11-25 18:57:33 UTC

Sounds like sour grapes, is it possible your Tina's parents, jez n shas have done wonders for rojos, before they took over the food t n j served was bland, nuff said.. Jez best of luck in your new bar.

Commented davieselz in La Marina 2013-11-25 19:25:24 UTC

Parent I am not, a loyal friend yes! I am simply putting out my opinion as have others. And I'm pretty sure the sour grapes are on jezs' part!

Its interesting to see that carrie is Tinas daughter in law and simon and carrie turn up on the same posting, At the end of the day we have done our best and worked bloody hard to keep Rojos going when to be honest it was on its knees. Oh well we will move on and from peoples reaction we will be better off. Good luck to John and Tina, you have made no friends. WE owe you nothing, get your checkbook out and pay our money

Commented [email protected] in La Marina 2013-11-28 15:38:45 UTC

Well done jez, great detective work! Nice to know Tina has a stalker now too! But to be honest being her daughter in law would surely mean I know the truth!! They owe you nothing! Your deluded ideas of all this money you have paid in makes us all laugh! But beside any of that my opinion on how Tina ran Rojos before has not and will not change just simply because I'm married to her son! It doesn't bother me in the slightest that you know who I am because I would happily say everything I have to your face! Not that I ever want to see it again! Your a vile person who feels the need to spread your malicious lies around in order to make yourself feel better. Jealously is an ugly trait and I'm sure in time your so called friends will see the real you, hopefully sooner rather than later!!

Commented carrie_simon in La Marina 2013-11-28 15:49:38 UTC

Well there you go, we knew who you were, Its non of your business but we paid you mother up front in cash for everything and they couldn't wait to get their hands on it. We have run the bar for over a year and she couldn't. Now they disgustingly have given us a weeks notice after agreeing and pushing us into a new contract. We have left them in NO DEBT and improved things, we have been lied too and believe me, people know, you look at your above status and you lied the saying you are a close friend. People who read this will see how money grabbing you family are. We will see who does better in the future.

Commented [email protected] in La Marina 2013-11-28 17:27:37 UTC

If what you are saying is to be true jescapes then you really need to see a Solicitor
we all here hear your anger, but there is nothing we can do or say to correct things as its
financial and broken contracts.
but wish you much luck in the future, and let us all know where you are when you get sorted !

PS Wasn't Temptations or the White Swan up for sale !

Commented FOX160 in La Marina 2013-11-28 17:43:28 UTC

You really do need to see a lawyer and fast if money has changed hands and contracts are broken, and not a "bar room lawyer" or keep bleating on a www.forum as all the bleating in world will not solve this. I would think if you are in the right then stay put do not hand over the bar etc or let anyone have access to it CHANGE the locks and fast and get a "few of the boys" around you.

Commented 2nd Casa in La Marina 2013-11-28 18:03:17 UTC

what both parties need to do is stop slagging off each other on the fórum and sort it out face to face or if needed with a solicitor, I dont know either of you but I beleive it wont do any good to either business to carry on the insults here, good luck to both

Pizzas will still be available from Aloha, Pauline's daughter is staying on as she knows how to do them. Take aways will be available and we will all day. Sunday lunches will start from this sunday. Hope to see all our old customers and maybe some new ones. Oh and the normal menu will still be available as well as a few extras. We will have an opening event soon, maybe some music and a bit of fun. Thanks again to the people who have helped us and the bar owners for their support.
