BACK TO LOCAL POLITICS

It might just be that it's August and very little gets done during this month because of the very hot weather. That's certainly been my experience in previous years.

For your info and others, the contract for the previous company, Generala , was terminated. It was the opinion of the accountant in the Town Hall, that the amounts to be paid to this company were so high, that it would have been impossible to pay their monthly bills. The contract was signed last October/November. As an individual, I would have been unhappy to see my Suma increased by €120 per year to pay this bill.( These are my calculations and should not be taken as fact )
As an interim measure, Ginsa, have been tasked with basic maintenance and operation of the waste sites.
Later next month, it is hoped that with a grant from Valencia, the Town Hall will be able to employ sufficient persons to properly maintain the gardens and green areas. We are in the process of seeking out leasing deals for equipment. As David has said, very little gets done during the month of August. It does get a bit frustrating when we try to do somethings only to be informed that we should call back in September. However this does not stop the weeds from growing. My wife and I make a point of treating the weeds in front of our house, when we are doing our garden. The dead weeds are then collected and taken to the waste site. We will also trim the trees and take trimmings to the waste site. If everybody did a little, then then problems of weeds, would be greatly reduced. We should also remember, that were we still in the UK, or other European Countries like Germany and Scandanavian countries, how much we would be paying in Council Taxes, for similar services.

Thanks for your reply to my earlier comments.
Just to clear things up,you are saying that the previous council accepted a tenderfor gardening etc. that could not possibly be paid as it was so expensive,well apparently according to the new council,it wasnt paid anyway.
So at some time this debt of nearly one million euros plus i gather interest will have to be paid eventually so at sometime it will go onto our sumas.You also say hardly any work is done in August,I think that is well known,But what happened to July and the end of June,because nothing was done then either.The big question is the old contract was agreed last October,normally these type of contracts run for a year,this one stopped soon after the new council took over,So did the new council cancel the contract (which i gather would leave it to pay a breach of contract amount)or did the contractors refuse to work in san Fulgencio because they were not being paid,In which case this council will have trouble ever finding a contractor with out paying money up front.(if you owned a company,would you work for someone who didnt pay)

Getting back to my previous piece regarding Jeffs article.
According to you we will not have a weed removed until Valencia come up with the cost of employing people to do jobs to keep them off the unemployed register,I know Valencia made this offer,and it was just before it was announced that the valencian community was the most indebted one in Spain(still think you will get the money)I take your statement telling us the suma here is cheaper than the equivalent tax in many other countries is a bit naive,in that many coutries across the Middle east the inhabitants pay no equivalent,it is a generalisation and you cannot compare like for like.
The point that you clear the weeds on the path outside your house,is a good point,when did you start having to do that,odds are it was recently as you didnt have to before because the contractors did it,and you knew no one was going to do it in the future,shame you didnt share your little secret months ago isnt it.
My last point is even if everybody cleared the weeds like you do,it will not make a big difference as hundreds of houses are not lived in ,Hundreds more are holiday homes,countless areas are waste,so no one lives in these roads at all,leaving perhaps 20%
inhabited fully and a majority of there are lived in my pensioners who couldnt clear the roads and paths due to disabilities.
I personally think that yet again Jeff you are fudging the facts

Cleaning up your garden waste, does any one tell the persons who are here on holiday that they should take the garden waste to the waste tip? do you still get a fine for putting your garden rubbish in the bins?

I agree about the amount of garden rubbish that goes into the green bins is becoming ridulous,but I dont think it is holiday makers but the regular and holiday home people that are the main culprits,but has anybody been fined as yet,I doubt it.
But please note Jeffs comments earlier on this thread,that waste sites will be handlad by Ginsa using BASIC maintainence and operation,so how long will it be before Extremadura and surrounding area have rubbished dumped all around and the waste site itself will look like a rubbish tip

Well it didnt take long wasnt it quiet no talk about politics or what Jeff was or wasnt doing as angelique reincarnated as Alan.If you want to complain about Jeff go and see him personally I for one dont want to waste my time reading about your complaints on our urb our President asks the Pool maintenance company to spray the weeds and all is well all I can say is get a life

One political comment for what seems ages and immediately a complaint about having to read it.All you have to do is scroll down.I am sure many people have noticed the state the parks and roadside Jeff has at least admitted we do not have gardeners to keep the weeds under control.I just want verification for anyone else who wants to know what is happening to this urbanisation.

Then I am told by you that your (urb)your word not mine but I gather you meant community was weeded by the pool man,what about the roads that run on the outside of your community who does them,and what about the house owners who are not on a community with possibly a private road inside.
If you had read some of my previous comments you would of known I had been to see jeff and on each point i asked he replied with what has seen since as an untruth, him

Where is Angelique and Julie havent heard from them for a long time ,maybe they have gone away.

We always put our garden waste by our local bins and broken garden furniture etc until March this year, when we moved over here permanetly and one of our neighbours saw us taking stuff to the bins and told us we could not leave it there anymore!!!!

So we rightly took it to where it should of been put, but if rules changed maybe everyone should have a leaflet put in their post boxes telling them.

How can you fine someone who didn't know the new rules.

May be a poster could be put on every bin telling people.

Well sorry I didnt make myself clear when I mentioned our pool man I weeding I did mean the public road on our Community as for answering twice how come one as an avatar and one does not could this mean TWO people called David?

I gather Julie has stopped writing on this forum,possibly over a disagreement between who she really was and her local combatent,who disagreed with her over who she thought he was.
Angelique stopped writing a few weeks ago after another forum comment was made about her.The funny thing is i really enjoyed reading her stuff most of it rubbish but some interesting

As it happens when they started up the place on Exremadora they did put posters on the bins with a map,but they so small they was almost impossible to read

Completely agree David could of been two different Davids,if so the one who doesnt want to read political comments just scroll past them.
To the other david ,I agree about August but they stopped doing the weeding in June

Jeff, I remember that during the run up to election you were parading around La Marina market telling everyone that the current coalition are corrupt and that they were not spending money on the urbanisations and that you, if elected, will ensure that this is corrected. Now that you have been elected you are telling us that in fact the previous council were spending too much money cleaning up the urbanisations and that you have cancelled the contract!
You do seem to tell different stories as it suits you. Perhaps your five new assistants can don their wellies and gardening gloves and do a bit of weeding in the once beautiful green areas.
