I have just seen the box at the bottom that says Notify me if a further comment is added. A very welcome extra.

It is interesting to note that not one of the political minded people on this site have dared to come back with any kind of a reply or opinion. Not any one from the Elected council side, or dare I say it Angelique from the other side, who at one time had so much to say, let alone any of the other regular people who just after the elections had so much to say. The Church being on the Urb is as I understand it a major point in the possibility of La Marina becoming its own master. That has to be a major thorn in the side for San Fulgencio Town Hall?

Hi, I would have thought you would have recieved stacks of replies on this one. I do know that the Church is up and running and it has been consecrated. They normally have a mass every Sunday at 12.00, but times may vary as there is normally only one priest available.

Thought i would reply to you.
I would think it would take more than an official church to turn La Marina Urb. into a town.The first thing would be does it have to be a certain denomination,how many people must live in the area.How many councillors would run the town,what would happen to san Fulgencio,as without the Urbs it is not much bigger than a village,could you find enough Fluent speaking Spanish people to become councillors,dont forget most of the money collected by Councils is not the peanuts it gets from suma,but from Alicante diputante and Valencian Government.i could go on but I have heard so many ways that this urb. can become a self governing Town,that It does get a bit boring,let someone actually tell us the truth,and i will listen,until then,i will get on with my life and be ruled by a bunch of people who think they know how to run a Town.My opinion for what it is worth,and that is we have more chance of getting a golf course with four thousand houses and a hotel built on the Quarry sight than becoming a Town.Too many people have too much to lose,for either to become a reality.

Jeff does this mean that The Urb could go independant of San Fulgencio? If you are talking about Mass are you saying it is a Catholic Church?

Eve, There is a lot more to it than just having a church, Yes it is a Catholic Church, The Virgen of Peace. Also we will be puting the details of the Masses and the processions for the Easter Celebrations in the next few days. For those of the Cof E, there is a Church service every Sunday in San Fulgencio Church, the last info I had was that it was at 10.30.

I gather you will know or can find out,Just what has to be achieved for an Urb. or a Village ,to become a self supporting Town,Could you please let us know the criteria,or where we can find out what the criteria is.I am sure the people around here would appreciate any information you can give them
