Bay Radio Be Nice Day 5km Walk

Bay Radio has selected Impact charity to represent San Fulgencio / La Marina in a charity walk that will take place along the Costas on Sunday May 6th at 11:15am. At present there are over 25 charities taking part in this walk up and down the coast.

ROUTE
Walk will start and finish at the Impact Charity Shop.
Registration (€5) available between 9:30 and 11:00 am on the day.

FUNDS TO BENEFIT
EMAUS Children's Home Elche, plus Impact charity will purchase food for the needy in La Marina / San Fulgencio and 100% of the entry fee (€5) and 25% of sponsorship to CARITAS.

ENTERTAINMENT
11am – Tam & Jan Young (Music Entertainers)
2:30 – 3:00 pm – Hog Roast (€3.50 per person)
4pm – 5:30 pm – La concert band

Plus tombola prizes throughout the day as the shop will be open too

We would like to thank Paul from the Hogs Head who has offered full use of his terrace and bar for an event, due to committee decisions it has been decided that all events will be held at the shop.

We would also like to thank Annette from EMAUS for providing the La concert Band and also Tam & Jan Young for the music entertainment during the day.

There will also be light refreshments on sale on the day

Just a poilite reminder to all Spanish life readers, of the 5km walk this Sunday (6th May).
The shop will be open after 9.30am the hog roast will start to be cooked just after 7am, hoping it will be ready to between, 13:00 - 14:00, the price as stated is, €3.50 this includes stuffing, apple sauce,diced potatos,bread.
Refreshments will be on sale, there will be cans of coke/sprite/fanta/orange all priced at 75 cents.

This walk is to aid the needy in La Marina / San fulgencio, Caritas, EMAUS childrens home elche.
There will be mini buckets for sponsors or people willing to donate any sponsorship money towards these charities.
If there any people still wishing to walk you can register at the shop untill 11am. The registration fee is €5 this goes all to caritas who are nation wide spansih charity who help the needy with food, clothes and people thrown in to poverty.

What a great day, first I would like to thank everyone who turned out to support this 5km walk. 32 people done the walk this morning just by them registering we raised over €165 euros. As for how much money we raised for sponsorship we estimate just over €1000 euros. The shop itself raised just under €500 euros for being open to the public. We had some great entertainment and and a huge thank you to Tam & Jan Young who done there best to bring members of the public in the shop. A big thank you to the la concert band who played a hour and half of great music. A big thank you to councillor Jeff for providing water and oranges to the walkers, a big thank you to Dave and Carolyn for turning up at the shop at 6:45am to start the hog roast and for everyone who missed out it was amazing and great value. This would not of been possible if it was not for the generous members of the public who donated and sponsored the walkers and buying from the shop today. We still have a lot of sponsor money not accounted for, when the walkers hand in all sponsor money wile will be able to release a more accurate figure of what was raised.

I also forgot to add a huge thank you to Anettee and Dave English for arranging to have 12 of the children from the children's home EMAUS, Elche to come down an join us today. They ran riot in the shop. It it was good to see them enjoy there selfs. Thank you to everyone who brought the kids toys and more from the shop.
