"Bay Radios be nice day" press release.
Bay Radio concluded their inaugural Be Nice Day charity fundraiser by announcing the final total and competition winners on air this week. The event took place on Sunday 6th May and involved charities across the Bay Radio network frpm La Drova, Valencia in the north to Mojacar, Almeria in the south. The charities organised 5km sponsored walks in conjunction with Bay Radio with many continuing the fun fundraising activities afterwards with stalls, party games and musical concerts amongst other things.
A grand total of 25,534 Euros has been raised which will be shared between the organising charity and Caritas who are helping to feed the families of the unemployed who have no form of income due to the financial crisis.
Bay Radio charity coordinator Magpie Latham said. “This is a fantastic sum given the economic climate. My original projection was to raise at least 15,000 Euros so I am thrilled. It was the first time an event like this has been organised on the Costas and everyone helped make it a great success. However, it won’t be the last as Bay Radio Be Nice Day is set to become an annual event. We would like to thank the following charities for taking part and for their hard work and dedication, AECC Alfaz, Original Charity Shop Javea, The Freemasons, SCAN, PEPA, LAPS, Jalon Valley Help, Jalon and Orba Lions, Guardian Angels, Race for Life Xabia, Moriara Lions, EKA, The Calpe Bed Centre, BARC, Impact Charity Shop, Paul Cunningham Nurses, Torrevieja Lions, Help Vega Baja, Help at Home CB, Help Mar Menor, Fundraiser Shops, Vera Lions, MABS and Help Denia. Also a big thank you to the people who took part and raised sponsorship, they have been incredible”

.Im posting this on the forum as a lot of members of the public sponsored impact charity because of advertising the event on Spanish life.
This is a press release that should be in some of the local papers next week. All of us at Impact Charity would like I say a huge thank you to everyone who donated / sponsored Impact Charity.
From Monday 25th of June we will be working very closely with the local caritas church in San Fulgencio, I was amazed that they are helping near on 200 people. There are a lot of bars, fundraising events going on on the Urb for the needy not so much for caritas in San Fulgencio. So from now on we will be donating all the food to caritas down in the village. So everyone who brings food in to for our food basket in the shop please continue.
