mobility scooters

Hi, I'm in need of a scooter for occasional use, mainly holidays, so it will have to be one that folds for transportation. We have a car but when we go on our lovely "David's tours" we miss out. Does anyone have any suggestions. Have you bought a second hand scooter? Do you wish you'd invested in a new one? I've been advised that if I go for a used one only to buy a Spanish one, as others my be hard to have repaired. I'd also have to know the reason for the sale. I can't justify buying a new one for the limited use it will get, but I'd love to be able to pop round to see pals without having to be driven

Hi Mazza my friend has had one on hire from the Mobility shop down by Mercadona for 2 weeks. Why don't you try one for a couple of days to see how you get on. Thanks for the loan of "the lovely Mr Smith today" I think he enjoyed himself. Cheers Eve

No problem Eve, but you didn't tell me you were sending him home..... I'm quite impressed that he didn't bring home half the shop and I've warned him that when you go to the kennels he doesn't bring a dog home, under pain of a tongue lashing. I've tried the scooters in the shop but they're over 900 and for the limited time I will use it it's a lot of dosh.I just hate being tied in unless the boy's here I need my freedom back. Presently I'm looking at a second hand one just to tootle about locally and if it doesn't fold down I can hire one in the short term. I'm pulled both ways. I rarely buy 2nd hand but I think I'm going to have a look at them. I'll send him back to you next week
