La Marina spirit

On this site its often very negative comments and we are all guilty of it. Bit today ive seen the fantastic community spirit the people offer here at the funeral of a lovely man Paul Docerty. (DOC). People have got to extreme lengths to do all they can and the send of was fantastic. Id just like to say La Marina you showed yourself today for the fantastic place to live you are. Well done to the George for the great send off they gave him and to his many friends, lots of tears from people but positive and determined to stick together and celebrate the life of a lovely, fantastic family man.

Well said Jescapes . It's good to see the community pulling together at such a sad sad time.

Electrons. Please have some respect. You are lucky that you are here to listen to noise. Your comments are abhorrent.

I totally agree with you that ELECTRONS is despicable, however, in my view he is not worth the high rating of "a piece of shit" he is definitely not that good.
I am disgusted by his postings at this tragic time.

r. moreton, well said....I thought my "piece of shit" comment was slightly over the top, but thanks for firmly putting this idiot well and truly in his place. I don't think we'll hear from him again, unless he "man's up" and apologises to all concerned, i'm not holding my breath though.

Thank you, Stockportdave,....I feel it just had to be said.

I would just like to apologise to all regular and sensible users of this forum (with the exception of Electrons) for my outburst of language yesterday.
But it is clear that electrons has no concept of the application of using tact or compassion,..as the person who started this thread had mentioned the words "funeral of Paul Docherty". Paul was a man who selflessly helped others and regardless of his own circumstances tirelessly orchestrated, helped, supported various events in the aim to raise awareness and ultimately find a cure for cancer, a disease that doesn't discriminate.
I have been informed that the current council are backing the setting up of a new charity called the "Paul Docherty foundation/charity". Although I think Paul would be a little embarrassed to have a charity in his name,...it is nothing short of what he deserves for being the selfless person he was. I have also been told that this new charity will have the backing of any new local council that comes into power, should our current ones fail at the next election. From my understanding at the charity fund raiser last Monday night in aid of Paul's family, there were a lack of facilities in the support of people and families affected by cancer in the La Marina area,...hence the Paul Docherty foundation being set up.
We have all lost a good friend in Doc,..weather you knew him or not, somewhere you will have been touched by his actions or presence without even realising it.
There will be yet another bright star shining over La Marina at night and he will be looking down on us all (possibly planning another big wind up...lol) R.I.P my friend,...gone but never forgotten!

Electrons!! I have met some pricks in my time,..but you my amigo are the cactus.

Thanks r moreton for your thanks.
I too was diagnosed with Cancer (Prostate) 5 years ago and underwent an operation and 35 radiation treatments. Up to now, i'm doing ok and am just getting on with my life, but Paul took time out to organise a football match to raise awareness and money. I don't know all the details of other things he did because I didn't know Paul all that well, but it shows that despite his problems, he tried to help others.

A minute silence was held yesterday before the start of the football game against Elche. Paul was an original member of your local football club.
