In this weeks Round Town News is an article on WFA.
It is urging everybody to sign a petition to stop the Governments victimisation of pensioners living abroad who have contributed to the Welfare state, by withdrawing their Winter Fuel Payment.
Mr Osborne reckons "huge savings" of £30 million can be made, despite another Government official for the Health Service describing an identical figure as "a drop in the ocean" !
This Government can willingly send £billions abroad to countries that are corrupt and/or have Space programmes, but they can't help their own people who built the Country up by working and paying taxes all their lives.

I agree with stockportdave, you must sign this petition, it's your money, you have rightly earned it through all the years you have been working and paying taxes. I have just signed it and I'm not even due the money and not retirement age, so all of you ex pats in Spain thinking 'what's the point'......there's every point to it. Unless of course you don't need....then give it to charity WHEN you get it.

As a rule I never sign petitions, but I take exception to this Political move, I hope all that can will also sign. They should not be allowed to get away with this. One asks what next? Perhaps it will be our Pensions just because we are not now resident in the UK. Cheeky Blighters.

Yes I have signed as well. There is know reason why anyone should not sign. It's what we paid in for over the years. Form is dead easy by the way, just remember when they email you. You have to confirm that it was you by replying back to them.

I sighed it a while ago on FB I think its disgraceful. I also sighed the petition that is in support of both sexes to retire at 60.

You Brits do not know what COLD is!
Try 1 year in Scandinavia if you want cold!
No winter heating allowances there even for those who have escaped to the wonderful climate of Spain!
