LA MARINA BOWLS CLUB REPORT FOR WEEK COMMENCING 27TH JANUARY 2014
Another glorious week in sunny Spain for the bowling unfortunately again some ups and downs at La Marina, this week’s top team goes to the Seagulls and the sister team the pathfinders managing to win both Friday and Monday. Friday saw the Seagulls away to San Luis Tigers coming away with a good 9 points to 5 win, winning trips Dave Freeman, Chris Green skip John Morgan: Barbara Forshaw, Jim Freeman skip Tom Edwards: Ron Garland. Sue Daniels skip Len Daniels: and a draw for Pam Morgan, Clive Pratt skip Bob Mallett. Monday saw the Pathfinders at home to Emerald Isle Neptune’s winning 10 points to 4 winning trips Bob Tew, Barbara Forshaw skip Tom Edwards: Hazel Towers, Steve Hindle skip John Morgan: Gina Hindle, Sam Towers skip Dave Hadaway: and Hilary Cronk, Chris Green skip Arthur Cronk.
On Friday the Dolphins were at home to Quesada Diamonds achieving a 7 points all draw the winners Jill Albutt, Mike Brain skip John Albutt: Reg Jackson, Angie Butler skip Bill Jones: Marg Jamieson, Dave Willas skip Bill Jamieson: and a draw for Jan Gugerly, Derek Shirley skip Dave Gugerly. On Monday the Astronauts were at home to high flying Visatbella Albatrosses going down 2 points to 12 the only winning rink Angie Butler, Jack Chorlton skip George Chambers.
The Sharks fared little better losing at home to Greenland’s Oaks 2 points to 12 the winners being Andy Bartlett, Roy Hart skip Graham Norris: Monday the Explorers travelled to San Miguel Meteors losing 4 points to 10 the winners were Janet Parsons, Kathy Manning skip Jim Donnelly: and Maureen Kidd, Phil Pape skip Peter Parsons.
On Thursday our Fed 4`s team entertained San Miguel Apaches at home winning 6 points to 2 winning rinks Janet Parsons, Phil Pape, Peter Parsons skip Alan Castle: and Andy Bartlett, Bill Simms, Shirley Hadaway skip John Albutt.
