Elections 2015

Afternoon residents, and potential viewers who are debating to make the move permanent to La marina Urb.
I'm sure there are many residents who read this forum just to see the gossip or, events taking place on the overly bar packed urb.
I want you fellow readers to take a quick time out and make the jump to actually posting your feelings on this council or, what you personally would like to see change.
In the coming months you will see all parties start revealing possible candidates, each having there own cause. Would we say there worthy to be part of a community ruling council, no. Most of them have no political attributes at all, all they see are euro signs and 9 times out 10 want to implement there own ideas if elected, not the ideas of the residents that got them elected - please think carefully on that pitch.

What do you residents need, what do you want to see, lets be realistic with this.
Yes the council is broke, this does not come down to the current council, this is just a process of what has happened over the past 15 years.
Wages do fall into the equation but i say, when attacks are made against the current council about wages, it just seems other parties are as money orientated as the next person.

What we need is a council who will get back to basics, putting a little faith back into them.
La Marina Urb will be here for many years to come, we will not, lets not let the next generation inherit a run down town. La marina can be great, it was great. All this entails is getting back to basics people...

Just for the record, this website will in no way support the present council and Jeff in getting re elected.
This is not due to any political statement, but the way Jeff has behaved towards this site and local people over the years, offered a platform to inform the residence of important matters he has chosen not to bother, so we will not allow him to use the forum now.

Duly noted ASL.
We can only describe this as a huge blow to the current council, PP & PIPN.
Take a look back, even as far back as the last american election, social media played a huge part.
With reference to the Scottish independent vote, golly, the amount of social media used for that broke records. We can only say this is a huge dent to the PP&PIPN.
Question is, will the other parties have sense to use social media

ASL. Can I get this straight, the present Council consists of 8 PP members and 1PIPN, are you saying that the present council cannot use your Forum as a sounding board as well as PIPN, or is it the Councillors on board at the moment who you will bar from using it.
I think you should seriously consider what you are saying, as that the other parties involved in next years elections have not used this forum as a sounding board although things have been written about them that needed answering. I am sure you don't want to sound biased
Personally at this moment in time, I am a floating voter, I need opinions that sound true for me to decide who to vote next year.

Yes you are correct social media is now a very powerful tool that is why we contacted Jeff 3 years ago so that we could work with him but he was not interested, he may regret it now.

ASL,
Social media is a very weird toy, even those in charge of it may not realize just who they are talking to.
Personally I don't think jeff would ever write on this Forum, even if you paid him, but I bet he gets told of anything on here that he needs to know, and indeed answers albeit by a third party.
Even know, Do you realize who you have spoken to on here,? for all you know it may of been 'electioncampaign' who is Jeff or one of his cohorts, or perhaps electioncampaign may be the advance movement of the party that jeff was leading, or in fact perhaps jeff isn't going for the next election, but perhaps one of the top ten in the party he represents is going to grab the no1 position and go for it themselves. Or even funnier, it may be one of the staff that jeff sacked earlier this year, we know some skullduggery took place immediately after the sackings. That is just for openers, perhaps you would of done better and kept quiet until you knew a little of what was going on.
I will let you work out the many options that are still to be discovered

As always Alan your posts give to a lot of thought.
Jeff was offered this website as away of letting the local people know what is going on and he refused, deciding to set up his own blog that most people could not find or use.
We also think that he is posting on here under a different name or getting a member of his staff to do it for him, we feel this very childish, from a person running the council, he was given the job to work with the people not play games.
Jeff and his party will not be allowed to use this site to get any votes.

ASL,
I really understand all what you are saying, and in your position I would probably be saying the same things.
I fell out with jeff soon after he got his present job, When he lied to me. Because he had lied to me in a private conversation, I swore he would never do that to me again and everything I needed to know I would put on this forum, that way when he answered, many people could read it . That worked quite well for me, but jeff did take a lot of verbal abuse on this forum, when some people took unkindly when not getting their own way, This also started spreading to his family and his work people. It was at this point, that he stated he would not entertain this forum any longer and if people wanted him they should either visit him in his office or write to his blog, I think that around this time you must of contacted him.
So in this instance I can understand both of you ,and I must admit, I would of done exactly what the two of you did.
Trouble is our local election is important to us. As I say I don't think Jeff will write on this blog again, but an olive branch from you, may just get you many brownie popints

Wise words Alan and your memory as to the events is better than mine. I take on board your comments about an olive branch but I have little to lose, Jeff on the other hand and his party have a lot.
Social media is a much stronger tool than it was 4 years ago, this site is not the largest in the area but if I were to list the amount of local people that use it each month it would be impressive, we have been different than some of the other sites by letting people have their say, yes we have taken flack for this but still think that nothing more has been said on the forum than would have been in the local bar, and at the end of the day we are all adults and should know where to drew the line.
i am sure that this site is worth some of the local votes depending on what is posted, so all parties are invited to tell the locals what they are offering in exchange for their vote.
That is all but Jeff and his party.
