AP Manifesto

Having read AP’s manifesto (added below) I am somewhat confused, it states “Our candidates qualifications and experience were paramount when being considered for inclusion” does this include the party leader who only a few months ago was convicted of corruption in San Fulgencio / La Marina???
I wonder whether Mark informs those he talks to in the streets about the party’s leaders’ conviction as I doubt this would win many votes, its actually quite laughable and even a bit hypocritical.
I am still shocked that the party members Mark especially haven’t stepped down or at the very least a different party member as no matter how good your manifesto / intentions are a person convicted of corruption can never be trusted to put the needs of the many before the needs of his own.
In the list of candidates for election for the independent AP (Agrupacion Popular) party on 24th May there are 6 English candidates, 4 Spanish, 1 German, a Swedish and a Romanian candidate. In the AP party we have a rule which prohibits the inclusion of family members in a list of candidates for election. Our candidates qualifications and experience were paramount when being considered for inclusion. In our deliberations of proposals for the next administration we were conscious of the need to reduce expenditure and introduce new protocols for ethical management and efficiency. Accordingly, none of the proposals in our manifesto involve additional spending of public funds:

AP (Agrupacion Popular) Manifesto
• More support for the elderly and infirm and a Social Services office on the urbanisations.
• Administrative changes to facilitate transparency, easier house conveyance and planning permissions with allowed reversions to previously approved declarations and criteria.
• Stop animal cruelty, reinstate the animal rescue volunteers program and a municipal animal shelter project for volunteers.
• A day centre with organised activities for all age groups, local charities and clubs to promote participation and integration.
• Ambulance and health clinic service improvements with free multi-lingual translator and health care advisor.
• Support for underprivileged children and poor families.
• New bylaws to enforce a cleanup of the local environment, council notice boards throughout urbanisations and new systems for rapid multi-lingual information exchange.
• Aid for small businesses with a liaison / adviser

From 2007 to 2011 Mark Lewis was the Councillor for Fiestas. He was the first to bring the La Marina urbanisation summer fiesta to Consum square to benefit the business there, he was the first to organise a fiesta here without fireworks (a remarkable achievement), and the only councillor to arrange for all the entertainers at the La Marina summer fiestas to perform free. He was the first to organise a Father Christmas parade around the urbanisations. During the same period he was also the councillor for the English press, (remember those days when almost every week there was informative articles in the English press from the council). Mark Lewis works closely with the manager of the Social Services department in San Fulgencio, travelling around with her, sometimes accompanied by the doctor, visiting ex-pats with major health and self care issues, translating, helping to organise for them to be re-located to a total care facility when required, and for the repatriation to the UK when local
people were unable to organise themselves.

Regarding his well known achievements rescuing and rehoming abandoned animals. Mark Lewis organised for an unused ambulance to be de-commissioned and used as an Animal Rescue Vehicle. I too was one of the volunteers recruited by Mark Lewis to drive the ARV. Jeffrey Witold Wiszniewsky lied to me personally about the animal rescue vehicle being off the road temporarily for necessary repairs, at that time stating publicly that the arrangement with volunteers to help abandoned animals will continue and that he and Samantha will oversee this. Subsequently it was revealed in the newspapers that the agreement with volunteers had been cancelled and that the Town Hall had again taken a contract with the notorious Cereco company to collect animals and take them unceremoniously away from the locality.

Do we want a British councillor representing us that is out there in the streets all day every day and able to collaborate with other councillors to find solutions and improve life for local citizens, or, a councillor that sits for most of the day alone in his office thinking up ways to denigrate other councillors and waiting for someone to come in to take his photograph in order to take the credit for something he hasn’t done!

Mark Lewis is still there looking out for us alongside his political partner Mariano Marti Sanchez, who incidentally, is not in jail, if he was he would not be allowed to be involved in the local elections. In the AP voting list look for the name Mark Lewis at number 2 in the list. I will be using one of these slips in my voting envelope on Sunday.

Don,
I will make this short,
I believe this is the first time you have written on this forum since the Court case in which the leader of APsfu was found guilty of corruption and sentenced to jail time and a ban on holding public office for several years, The fact that they appealed against the verdict is the one and only reason they are allowed to be a standing candidate, the appeal may take years who knows, but unless the verdict is over ruled, or the Law changed, this person will have to leave any public office they hold.
Don I have no problem with you supporting Mark, I just look at your previous comments on this Forum. and it seems that almost everyone is a personal attack on either Jeff, Pauline,or the AAN. Possibly because Jeff refused to co-opt into the APsfu fold (which would of given Mark a proper job), Pauline who runs the very successful charity shop AAN (this charity was started by Jeff to help feed the poor of San Fulgencio.. In fact Mark openly condemned Pauline and AAN and practically stated that all gifts for the poor should be given to CARITAS (which is a national church charity) and also one that Mark claims to support.
It does seem to me that sometimes Don is Mark and other times don is not Mark but is told by mark what to write.
What would worry me is that if Mark got into any sort of power on the Council, he would find a way to get rid of the AAN,just to show that he could, for that reason alone it must be worth not voting APsfu.
As usual just my opinion.

It is important to remember that you vote for a party. Not a person.

I wish I COULD vote! Lived here twelve years, got residencia, pay tax to Hacienda, on the Padron (and renewed it last year when asked to), paid the Suma, etc etc. What's the only thing I ain't got? You're right - a voting card!! Always had them for previous elections.
And, you won't believe it, but there is a party I really fancied voting for this time.
Never mind, I'll hope they get in without my help. Funny old world, eh? !!!

Don, I too will make this short. Anytime I have seen Jeff in his office he has not been alone, but engaged with members of the community who had come into his office for help. I note that in thr AP manifesto which you have posted the welfare of animals is far higher up the list than assisting the poor and needy. In my opinion only dishonourable people would follow a dishonoured leader.

I thought today was a day of reflection no electioneering today. However over on PIS I would say there is some clear electioneering going off .
Dogs will die if you don't vote for us . Not in them words but it about the same .

Is PIS now a political party. " vote for us".

After reading the Pets In Spain (pis) facebook page. I must agree with what the above comments are saying.
Yet again it appears that a certain person connected with pis, is also second in command of the APsfu Party, So according to his and a few followers that he still has, He is trying to get into the brains of the electorate that if you don't vote APsfu they are guilty of wanting animals killed. I think I have a answer for that, The electorate have brains, that they use properly and as such they will work out the truth, and that may be vastly different to your spiel.

I can commiserate with Geoff (5 posts up) I too have all the credentials he has, but turned up this morning to vote, but was told "you're not on the list" !!

Alan it really was not what was being said on PIS but the fact at Saturday was the day of reflection were no electioneering is allowed. It's simply against the rules.
I'm told that a UP candidate turned up at the polling station with four flags flying from his car today he was asked to remove them and he could face a denouncia .
UP is a New party of young people new to the game unlike some old hands who should know better. I think the same rules should apply
