What will happen to British expats in Spain if the UK leaves the EU? British expats will be third-country nationals in the EU!

johnmckernanjnr, you are not correct! The Norwegians are not third country nationals in the EU. Have you never heard about the EEA?
A third country national is someone who settles in a foreign country whilst looking to migrate to a third country. I hardly think that applies to most Brits living in Spain. Once again reindeer you have made an ass of yourself.

harrykarry0,
wishful thinking from your side. If the UK decides to leave the EU British people living in Spain will be under the same rules as for instance people from Algeria, Morocco and other non EU countries. So then you say "have made an ass of yourself" yes I wonder who has made an ass.
I really hope that the UK will stay in the EU and that the British people will see the advantages of being there.
And you can call me whatever you like but try to se the reality.
That was my point that you missed reindeer, if the UK leaves the EU I think we would be relegated to the second division known as the EEA.

johnmckernanjr,
I haven't missed the EEA possibility for the UK. But is that really what David Cameron wants? You have nearly the same rules to follow as if you are in the EU. You have to follow among other things the free movement of goods, services, persons and capital — throughout the 31 EEA States. And Mr Cameron does not want those rules for the British people. Or do you have any other information what he wants?
Two interesting articles in the free press this week. One of them in The Euro weekly news had a great story regarding the UK leaving....Pensioners wouldn't have access to free Medical care, also our Pensions could be frozen meaning lots of people would want to go back to the UK resulting in the value in our properties dropping dramatically.
I urge all expats to make sure you have your vote and vote to STAY IN.
Yes same as the Norwegians.
