Persimon Fruit
Has anyone ever tried Persimon Fruit? It looks like a Tomato. If so, how ripe should it be before eating it?

Very red - otherwise they are bitter
Persimmon fruit is very rich in vitamins, minerals and anti-oxidants. It was first grown in China. The ones that look like Tomatoes should b eaten when they are very ripe. Very low in calories they can be used to make fruit pudding. Perhaps a crumble.
Also called 'Kaki' fruit. There are different spellings but all sound the same. Also 'Sharon' fruit is the same fruit.
