Mr Golfer i understand what you are saying but to be honest regardless of what licence should be in place or shouldnt be place, the councill will not go around enforcing this law as im sure if they did all they would do is drive the people well, the rest of la marina out of town. This is one of them laws where the valencian region have probably introduced but the ultimate decison is down to the local councill to enforce it.. THAT WILL NEVER HAPPEN

Could be interesting,as it seems that nobody understands what the rules are,so the bar owners take the blame for everything.Cant quite get to grips with Valenciana having over 900 cases to go through probably for heavy fines to be imposed,on bar owners,for not having the appropriate license to play music,and then more penalties for not paying tax on something that they dont have.so i gather that if they have to pay back tax for something they havnt got (the correct license)Valenciana are either illegally fining them for not having a license or they are illegally fining them by making them pay back taxes,Whichever way, the final score is Valenciana played well and beat the bar owners 2-0,unfortunately the crowd left (the punters)left before the final whistle (no pun intended)Leaving the score 0-0,because in the end the bar owners have to close down,meaning they will hop it a bit lively,without paying the fines and taxes,thereby Valenciana get nothing,We the residents end up the only people in the area,because most of us have houses we wont be able to sell and of course,the council wont need many staff as only a few people will live in the area,and of course we wont need councillors as they wont have any income from the area.
Over to you,San Fulgencio Council let us know what you sorted out between you and the bar owners last year,or do we end up with another fiasco,In which nothing can be sorted because nobody wants to take the blame for all the cock ups that have happened in past years.
I promise my next vote goes to the councillor who at least accepts part of the blame.,and tries to sort out the problems
Because some ofthe residents of this area are getting a tad fed up with what is happening in this area

Crapy-oaky?? I assume that you are not fond of Karaoke then, but please dont try to take it away from the many poeple on the Urb that do like it.
Take a look around, a good look........this is an urbanization, like many in Spain that is in trouble. We have hundreds of houses sat empty waiting for buyers, people going back to their home countries in droves for many reasons, but for lots due to the lack of work here and a local council who have openly admitted to being seriously in debt.
So yes, why dont the council start enforcing the law and closing down us bar owners who have music, karaoke or something else we shouldnt ( like a quiz with a cash prize). That would really help the situation. More of us could go back and poeple like yourself can have it as quiet as you like! There wont be many of you here, so I hope you'll be very happy together. Just remember though, there will be few people, few bars and resturants, NO entertainment. With the lack of people comes the fact that there would be no need for a doctors surgery, town hall, police station etc. Is this the kind of place that you would want to live? If so why did you choose to come here in the first place?
Meanwhile lets not forget that most of us are just trying to make a living here and we are trying to do it as legally as possible.

You have stated everything correctly,But you seem to be a lone voice amongst bar owners,who seem to be too scared of retaliation by the police or council,if they dare offer an opinion,which is different from the party line.
I remember when this subject came up last year on this forum,When i believe andi,mentioned to you to be careful in your protests against the police,because it could turn against you.
I say stuff the threats Nikki,keep talking the common sense,that you are talking,I am sure in the end people will see it as common sense and start getting behind you

As for Crapy-oaky, A La Mata Bar owners words not mine, I only stated what he told me.

It seems to me Nikki that the government puts everything in the way of people earning a crust of bread, that they can. I can understand why there are so many business' that are empty, you would think they would do everything in their power to help people to start up a business, but, no, they put so many obstacles in there way its a wonder there aren't a lot more empty commercial properties on the Urb. If things go on the way they are, La Marina will become a slum area. I think the powers that be sit in their little Ivory towers and think up as many ways as they can to make life difficult. I am by no means racially prejudice but there only seems to be one type of business that survives in Spain and I don't think any of our readers need me to spell it out.

Alan I don't think the police would retaliate against my batman man heroics of moving these these 15-16 year olds on. As for Nikki and the bar I'm one of there best customers hahah.. End of the day we all know the councill can't enforce this law as it would leave the councillors out of a job the police out of a job and more..it would be like godalming the town in the UK you can walk from one end to the next in less than 4 minutes and its dead. There is a difference between a bar/café and a discotheque/nightclub. I think it's what the different licences are about. Also the opening hours. The licence for music requires soundproofing like double doors etc.

In our café we are having the licence Group J. We are playing music, but not so loud that we disturb our neighbours. We are also very sure the door not is open more than necessary. The local police have been visiting - just to do a normal checking. Until now we don´t have any problems.
