ALL NIGHT MUSIC

Ian is it bars or next door neighbours we have trouble at times but they do respond if we ask them to turn it down. Although that entails getting up to tell them to turn it down.

I live quite near the bottom road,the music last few nights has not come from anywhere on La Marina Urb. or even San Fulgencio,but further afield possibly Catral or Dolores area,but is hard to tell,but definitely miles from LaMarina Urb.
It appears to start,around midnight and this morning finished around 5am.
The amazing thing is,that according to Valencia,nobody complains about this music ,because they "only get complaints about La Marina",Who are they trying to kid,because they aint kidding me and I for one do not like it when Councils and Regional Governments treat me like a mushroom (keep me in the dark and feed me S**T)

I was helping a old lady this morning and she said the same as you about the music finishing at that time. She said its coming from the disco tech on the motorway across from mercdona.
Not to sure there is one there but she said that's where the noise is coming from.

It is Rojales Moors & Christians. Happens every year,quite a spectacle if you have never been, part of Spanish culture and been around for many years

Last night I sat on my terrace until 2am listening to the music,a lot of it was my kind of music.
Went to bed after closing windows and putting air con on,could barely hear the music then.
I enjoy a good Fiesta and have no problem with the noise or chaos they sometimes cause.
What winds me up is when those people who have a bit of power,expect me to believe that La Marina is the only place that gets noise complaints,

Yeah I did gather that,but I thought your remark was good enough to warrant an answer,unfortunately i couldnt think of a good one,so had to make do with the only one I could think of

The problen noise does carry a long way, somtimes we even hear the reverse bleepers from trucks in the the quarry and they are about a mile away (as the crow flies)

Could be Italy celebrating.....or are they too far away ???

Surely noise celebrating the end of eight hundred years of Moorish rule can not be described as 'problem'. Traditional must be a better description, bit like church bells celebrating something.

I was told it was coming from San Fulgencio but I am not sure.

My friends who live in Gran Alacant have the same problem with villa lets besides them. They have on numerous occasions had to call the police and the police have sorted it...he tried to sort it himself one night and just got verbal abuse.. He finds it best to call the police because that way they dont know who has complained and so doesnt get any aggro.. obviously the police in LM dont do the same, why not ?

I think if you read the comments on this link,you will realise on this occasion,the local police could of done absolutely nothing,as the music was from a few miles away,and most important it was part of an annual Moors and Christians Fiesta

Definitely two sets of rules. For the second week-end now the police have been around the Sports Complex, Apparently they were asked to turn down the music, but, I would be very interested to know if they turn up tonight?

Regarding the previous comment by Eve,could you explain,Why the Fiesta music,is allowed to go on all night,yet police wont allow music in the late evening in La Marina,I know fiestas are a Spanish way of lifeand are to be enjoyed,but i also thought late eating of meals with entertainment was also a Spanish way of life,so why is enjoyment not allowed in La Marina.Hopefully you may have a reason other than the worn out one,of "if someone complains"I am beginning to think it lays deeper than that

I believe (but am not sure) that local fiestas are for a limited time only (one week or a long weekend) and are licensed by the local town halls and are usually to celebrate something, saints, seasons,etc. Most Spanish people out for an evening meal seem to entertain themselves and make plenty of noise without the added distraction of music. The entertainment in most commercial areas of most urbs. seems to get a bit out of hand with different bars etc. competing to attract custom. Don't think that there is a double standard, the noisiest bar in San Ful is totally soundproofed, you can't hear anything outside, likewise in Dolores. I say live and let live and hope the silly old (or young) duffers that keep complaining go deaf soon!! Or back to the quiet leafy suburb of whichever country they come from.

I think you could be right Eve...I too have had 3 sleepless nights due to music pounding away all night...I love music but I dont want it all night!!!!!

Its 11.45 all quiet at the moment, will we allowed to sleep tonight?????????

It was on OK but the VOLUME had been turned down. Must of still be very loud where it was being played but up here you could only just here it. Did not have to close shutters and put on Aircon. One wonders did someone deliver the organisers a message about excess volume, they must of. Many thanks from the many of us who like to sleep at night.

Noise and loud music etc. is great when you are part of it, singing along with it in a bar or joining in the local Fiesta celebrations, I think we are all guilty of that, and let’s face it we never ever give the guy living nearby who is trying to get to sleep a second thought.
Ian, try and look on the bright side, it should only be for a few days once a year.

I've not read this notice myself but a friend told me that the Sol Bank has a notice up stating that all restaurants and bars have a summer extension in La Marina by order of the Mayor. I think he said it was restaurants until 1.30 and bars until 4.30...just saying

We all sympathised with Ian being kept awake due to night time noise for a few nights, imagine how the people living next door to a bar would feel, I doubt the Council would permit this especially as only a handful had the correct licences -- Let’s hope this is a wind up.

it wasn't in La Marina it was in Rojales. Why does everyone think the world revolves around ex-pats in La Marina and their 'noise aversion'. GO to a Spanish Fiesta and see Spanish people your own age enjoying the opportunity to see all of their community enjoying a couple of days together!

It is only once a year. my parents live on the urb and also moan but I live closer to Rojales in the 'campo' of san fulgencio and although it is loud, i still was not put out, the fan in my bedroom (cheaper than aircon!) meant I didn't hear anything!!

I personally think it is crazy to have bars that are very close to residential property open until 2.30 / 4 am, luckily I am not that near, plus I am not out at that ungodly hour, however there are a lot of residential properties that are only a few yards away from some of the bars, I guess if the bars keep the noise inside, then maybe it will not be a problem. Noise limiters spring to mind

So agree with Squash and info,unfortunately a few people on this Urb will not be satisfied until everybody is as miserable as them.
