More like someone in the council wanted this and thought where can we hold it, I know lets tap into La Marina's budget and dump it there.

Lets see how much local bars made from this?

No local bars profited from this concert last night. As from what has been said on this forum a local bar had the use of the market swayed last night. Although it looked pretty busy people eating around the grey area last night.

Not too sure a local bar was involved last night,I may be wrong ,but the bar seemed part of the Rock Arena set up.First time i have seen where you pay extortionate prices for beer or water,and you buy a ticket for the drink first then go to the bar to get a drink using the ticket.People were being turned away at the entrance if they had any drink on them,consequently lots of people standing around parked cars drinking alcohol before going into the concert.I didnt stay long,before going to the strip to enjoy a reasonable price drink,I hope a lot of other people did to.
Shame it was a completely Spanish night,even the signs were in Spanish only, I know it is Spain but a lot of people from other European countries are in La Marina for there holidays,absolutely nothing done for them,and seeing as it was a tourism thing,I would of expected a bit more
If it is a regular event,It could be one to miss next year

I'm surprised you even went... I'm sure it was all you expected and more. Was it worth €18 grand well only the people who went can say yes or no.
I'm sure there are better ways to spend that big amount on tourism.

So Alan any idea of numbers was it heaving? just fairly busy? or a little patchy on the ground?

I was talking to someone this morning and she reckons at least 2000 people turned up. She did say like Alan said drinks were very expensive.

So 2000 people turned up may be more maybe less but it done nothing for the La Marina Urb as in tourism bringing bussniess in for the locals.

Heavy Rock is not my scene Andi,But If I hadnt of gone,I wouldnt of been able to praise or condemn it,It was also very pleasant weather wise so it was a nice evening to be out.
Was it worth 18000 or so Euros,not to me,I could of had a more enjoyable time at almost any bar on La Marina.Was it good for the Tourism of La Marina,Lots of youngish people present mostly dressed in dark colours as you do if you are a rock concert fan,but will these same people become regulars to La Marina, not in a month of Sundays,was it good for theshops and bars of La Marina,I should think Supa Valu did well by the amount of cases of beer i saw being consumed outside of the Venue.Was it good for bars,possibly ,noticed quite a few people like me leaving early and heading for the bars along the strip.
The only thing left to work out is,I was led to believe most of the cost of this concert was set aside to aid tourism,could it of been spent more wisely,Undoudtably yes.
In fact I believe the Council could do more for Tourism,if they stop hounding the places that would bring people into this place,Yes i mean get the Council and the police to grow up and realise that whilst they are killing the bar and restaurant trade,with their absolutely ridiculous
ideas of banning happiness and enjoyment inside these premises,using the stupid theory of blaming the bar owners for complaining about each other,No matter what they spend on so called tourism will be a complete waste,until they (the Council and the police)realise it will be them that kill tourism in La Marina,which in turn will kill La Marina.
No I do not intend a verbal battle with some people who make comments on this Forum

i do not know what numbers were at the Concert,but in my opinion it was nowhere near as many as gather on LaMarina beach on Christmas Day.
I was at the concert reasonably early at about 9.15 and left completely bored by 10.30.by then about 250 people were inside,and perhaps 100 outside drinking properly priced beer,obviously it would of got busier later,but I must add people were leaving as I was arriving and people were leaving when i did

So basically La Marina was the only town to be able to hold such an event and without including them being the isolation the car park gives from local homes.
and a healthy budget to tap into

Think the Government need to remember they designed an European Urbanisation and with our budget have the respect to ask what we may like before they entertain themselves with it!
