JEFF TALKS ABOUT THE ROCK ARENA IN HIS BLOG TODAY

ASL Member Founding Member Bericht #18273 Reacties gesloten

I have just read Jeffs blog,Regarding the Rock Concert over the weekend. It seems that Dos Mas arranged and paid for most things,Some groups appeared for no fee, others were paid by Dos Mas,I gather Dos Mas had the takings to off set their costs. The other costs were met by the Town Hall ( I gather it is a nicer way than saying the Local SUMA payers)Jeff said the Town Hall (Residents) costs were kept to a minimum, so I gather we didn't get a grant from Alicante or Valencia.Jeff didn't mention the cost to us, perhaps it is a bit early yet, and he doesn't want to make the same silly mistake he made last year, when he was apparently given outdated costs, which he later apoligised for. He did have an idea of asking the Council to give ear plugs next year to people whose sleep was interrupted (so get prepared next year, when the dates are announced to have a weekend away if you are really upset at losing your sleep). It appears Jeff enjoyed people watching rather than the music (sic).the crowd behavior on the whole was good, except for people peeing all over the place, and some drunkenness.
I hope we will get a complete cost to us residents, as soon as possible,if we don't I will take that as a sign that it was high, I also hope the Council will listen to some of the complaints and try to alleviate them next year.

Alan.

I've just read the comments on his blog.
If you step outside the circle of all the hatred aimed at him at the mo and read into the comments.
It's as if his actually kind of agreeing with us that there was no need for the concert and yes I know it's public knowledge but to put the councillor a email out there shows he am of actually had no control over this, wether he liked the concert or not.
His comments on this seem very hard stance as in, the concert is now over, the urb is back to normal please go talk to the people who arranged it.
I think a slow split is now occurring with these guys.

Rock Concert
Well that´s the Rock Concert over with and the Urbanisation is back to normal.
So before anyone starts on about the costs, the noise, the disturbances etc., I thought I would get in there first.
As far as the The whole Rock Arena is concerned , all enquiries should be directed to the Councillor for Tourism, Borja Alonso , email address :[email protected]. He organised the whole event with Dos Mas , who covered all the costs of this event. The Town Hall only collaborated in matters of Security and Cleaning, etc.

I am pleased to read that on this occasion Jeff is not responsible.

However, the proposal that "ear plugs" will be issued next year should be irrelevant if our elected councillor for The Urb can assure us that neither Dos Mas or anyone else will ever be allowed again to hold a rock concert on our doorsteps!

Please Jeff do everything in your power to see that this kind of disturbance never affects us, the residents, ever again. I think the entire Urb will be grateful for such an input!

Yes I have noticed recently that Jeffs stance has appeared to harden, and at last he seems to be growing balls, for that I say thanks.
It seems on reading what the Council paid was minimal, for that at least we should be grateful. But if Dos Mas paid for and organized this weekend gig,I have one serious question to ask,and hopefully Jeff will ask Councillor for tourism and culture.Borja Alonso a question and that is this year we had a two day concert,Dos Mas apparently got the receipts,Let us say 1200 people bought tickets at 10 Euros each that gives total receipts of 12000 Euros.Last year was a one day gig it cost the council somewhere around 25000 Euros. How can Dos Mas give double the gig size at half the cost, unless they themselves put in a five figure sum to balance the books, which has got to be very doubtful. Therefore last years concert financially was mis-managed,and Jeffs estimate of 8000 euros for last years gig,was nearer the mark.If it was mismanaged last year why is the Councillor responsible still employed in the same job.
I am beginning to worry I am getting to be pro Jeff

Just realized,I read Jeffs blog earlier today, and just been onto it again, and wow he has edited it and cut a lot out from the original.Sorry Jeff but my feeling is you was ordered to edit the fun bit out,you know the bit about people watching, the clean hair of the audience the comment from your wife etc.plus the more elaborate things as to who paid what, the ear plugs worn by some of the civil protection people working there.and your opinion of the music. So suddenly you have taken it out, surely you are still not being bullied, and there was me thinking you had grown balls

what, not more insulting and ignorant remarks, there must be a lot of ignorant people round these parts, how sad....

Sorry trevor, cannot understand what your comment is about

Trevor!
I find, in actual fact, you are very insulting! If this was every night or even every weekend, then yes I would be there to hand you the phone to call the police and "grass". But a couple of times of the year? You were young once, just think how you would have enjoyed the fact you had rock bands on your door step! I am touching 50, and I did not want to go, and I did not go, but I would NOT want to screw it up for those that do, through narrow minded selfishness.
