Sangam v Pisa

On Tuesday evening we went to the new Indian. We always try and support new ventures. The menu had "Set meal for 2" Any 2 starters, any 2 main, free poppodum and bottle of wine for each order. We ordered 2 sets to feed the 4 of us for 25 euro's each set.. We got a bottle of wine with the starters, and then asked for the second bottle. The waitress told us the boss said we couldn't have another bottle as we hadn't ordered correctly. We should have ordered only the meals specified for the cheap lunch menu. We showed her the menu but she said the menu was wrong. She said they would allow one set of 2 meals for the 25 euro's, but 2 starters were not on the set menu and we'd have to pay the a la carte price for those and 2 other meals. I told her I was very upset as we had ordered in good faith. I didn't cause a fuss as we had 2 grandkids with us. I also said we wouldn't be coming again. It was a rip off. In contrast we went to Pisa with the kids last night. 4 one course meals 4 drinks very nice indeed for 40 euro's and a complementry brandy. We will be going back there and recommending them . Sangam got 15 eoro's more than we expected, but no tip, Pisa got 10% tip

La Marina

Where is Sangams please? Thanks

Hi Mazza we have had a property in Lamarina for nearly 14 years now and we visit sometimes three times a year. Our first port of call for food is always Pisa. Sandra doesn't even bring me a menu know, the Spaghetti Fruite de Mer is delivered without prompting. Food is always top dollar, service relaxed as you would expect but could never praise them highly enough. Sorry you had to learn the hardway but as you say you will be voting with your feet. Can't wait until we are out again in May

Hi Christine, the Sangam is on the road where The vet's surgery and is on the same side as the lounge bar. In my younger days I would have raised the roof. It was a pure rip off. Our favourate curry house is Curry Mahal but we always give a new place a chance. Tonight we're taking the kids to Curry Mahal. The food is superb, the staff lovely and the ambience
very relaxing. We've taken at least 20 people there and they all love it, but I think curry is a very personal taste, we all like different ones. I'll be having chicken chat and a chicken madrass with a brandy coffee to end our meal. Yum perfection

Thank you Mazza...I just couldn't think where it was. Like you we prefer Curry Marhal....lovely staff, service and food. They're very silly starting up a new venture with that attitude......there's too much competition . Thanks once again

Had no problem when we went there 6 of us last week 3 sets at 25 euros for each couple , we had popadoms, starters and main courses from the ones shown on the set menu and 3 bottles of wine 75 euros total for 6 people, we have been 4 times never had a problem and the food is good.
We will go back there

Lucky you.We were charged 65 euros for the meal for the 4 of us and only given 1 bottle of wine and told that the ,menu was wrong and for the 25 euros menu we were only allowed to choose from the courses listed on the cheap lunch menu. I had a small business and know it's hard to make it pay. That's why we always support a new venture. I would not malign anyone and wasn't going to post on her till a friend said she thought people should be warned.
We're going to collect a new menu as the waitress said they were going to be re printed to correct the mistake. My Name is Mary Smith and I live on Oasis and if anyone would like to challenge what I've said I'll be more than happy to go to the place with tthem. It was a chap who took our order and we made it plain which menu we were ordering from and he seemed quite happy. It was the waitress who told us the boss said we had to pay a la carte prices for 2 starters and 2 main. I'm still fizzing as we're pensioners and eating out is a treat for us and we WERE RIPPED OFF AT SANGAM. We went out 3 other nights and had a lovely time with the kids with no complaints. We have lived here for over 6 years and have never made a complaint like this.
