I quickly stopped off at Hillside Karaoke last Sunday, There were a fair amount of local singers there and interestingly quite a few holiday makers. Hillside do not charge any membership to use the premises and they have some fantastic artists on. Also special evenings during the week which are also free to enter.

For the life of me I cannot see holiday makers paying a membership fee for their fairly short stay to go to the New Posh Private Members Club which is 60 euros per person. Surely people are not that gullible? Especially when there are several other perfectly usable NON MEMBERSHIP operations on the urb. Plus a fair amount of other bars that hold regular successful Karaoke nights and entertainment evenings/afternoons.

This is only my personal opinion but I am sure that I am not far off the mark?

Dreamer, have you been to the place yet and asked them what their plan is. As it appears, their business plan is 'different' as its not going to attract holiday makers unless they pay normal prices. I personally can't see getting €60 up front from UK resident pensioners unless they can borrow off their winter fuel allowance.

Yes Marko just called in on the Free weekend to have a nose around. Very nice inside but like a builders yard outside where the pool needs to be finished.

Agree that UK resident pensioners would not pay out 60 euros but if everyone thinks about it, a good majority are pensioners living here and just couldn't afford to pay out 60 euros per person - usually a married couple/partner which would be 120 euros. You would need to go there 5 or 6 times a week to eventually get back your membership back regarding the cheap drink offer.

Holiday makers and residence alike, have a good choice of venues up here on the urb that are free to go in to with very reasonably priced food and drink without having to pay to join. Also Posh is not in an ideal location like a lot of the other restaurants.

Posh are actually turning business away - which is this day and age is very stupid. My wife and I and many of our friends would like to have gone there when a favourite artist of ours would be performing, but we are just barred as we are not willing to pay the membership.

Actually a friend of mine last week went in for a coffee. Posh asked for their Membership and because he didn't have one - wasn't allowed his coffee.
They obviously think that they can afford to send paying customers away? Time will tell - we will just wait and see what happens!

There are many great establishments on the urb offering different food and entertainment, because there is now a new venue it does not mean that the other places will suffer.
I enjoyed a great night listening to Dee last Friday at Hillside and we often go to the Sports Complex to see Woody on a Sunday too. We went to the opening weekend at POSH and had a great time.
My partner has become a member an he signed me in for 3 euros for the Steak night last Saturday and then four of us went and enjoyed the first quiz night on Wednesday, with three of us paying the 3 euros each to get in.
Our meals were lovely and only 4.95 each and we shared a bottle of wine for 4 euros and the men had a few pints for 1.70. The quiz only cost us 1 euro each.
We are off to the monday lunch club at the final whistle tomorrow, and the Thursday club at the Hogs Head,so what I am trying to say is there is plenty to do on the urb at different venues at different times of the day and evening.
Also, people tend to go to the places nearest to where they live.

I'm sure time will tell if its a success and wish the owners well. But at €3 entrance to get a discounted pint at €1.70 (I'm assuming normal prices are about €2.20) you'd need to consume 6 pints to break even.

We decided to go to The Sports Complex last night (Satellite) and had a fantastic evening.
Delicious main meal for only 5 euros - and that included home made hot bread and ali oli to start - Don't think you will beat the price or the standard of this meal anywhere on the urb.

Also the ever popular **Woody** sang/entertained us all evening. Everyone was up dancing and having a wonderful time.
Great service and such a friendly atmosphere. No wonder this is such a popular evening - and you don't have to be a member to go. Thank you All

Sometimes its not all about breaking even but I see your point time will tell if they change the rules when they lose out on the holiday trade as I think you can only sign in the same "named person" 3 times in a year give it another 3 months.
