Little Train

I can confirm that Colin is indeed real. I think the train was a great idea and would love to see it up and running again, (in time for summer would be nice). I hope Colin gets a reply from the town hall and that they would at least listen to his idea's.

It was nice to read somebody writing a sensible Article on the *My Spanish Life* Section with reference to the Little Train and the possible way forward with using what should be an asset to the La Marina area.
As you are new to the forum possibly you do not realise that Jeff who has replied to the article is in actual fact our British speaking local Councillor. Perhaps you would like to contact Jeff at The Town Hall on La Marina urbanisation. He is there most mornings from 9.30 am to 1.00 pm. You will find Jeff a very easy person to communicate with person to person. Sorry, Carol. I was just trying to change the rather 'twee' photo and must have got something wrong! Would appreciate your take on the 'Little Train' and any encouragement you can give to others to comment - whether negative or positive - would be appreciated. Currently, I spend about 60/40 in UK/Spain - due to still having to work part of the year and, therefore, the need to maintain UK residency. However, I am looking at retirement to La Marina in the near future and self interest dictates that I want it to thrive. Consequently, I've been trying to come up with ideas which would increase the visitor numbers. Hence, my take on the Little Train. I still think the crossing the border into Elche would be a massive issue - but I will try to take time out to visit the Town Hall and see if I can meet with Jeff and assess if there is anywhere to go with this. I believe only the good will and hard work of Town Hall officials and councillors could resolve the many issues which would arise. I'd need a positive assurance that this would be forthcoming before I'd put the time into substantiating a business case. It'll have to be quick, though - as my contracting life is calling for me to make some GBPs!

Also have noticed another you tube clip it does seem to me that Grand Alicante has a busy shopping area and can see the reason people would use it more with the near door to door transportation

So what has hapend to the Train Colin Did they manage to frighten you off?? OR are you still at it??
