Charges for Parking your vehicle on your drive.

Can anyone please advice (preferably those involved in local government). My neighbor informs me that we will all in future be charged an annual fee (90 euros) for using our drives as we will be crossing a council pavements to get to them.

If we haven´t paid for this service and we are caught with our vehicle on the drive we will be heavily fined. Ludicrous to say the least! Not sure if this is just hearsay or rumour but is there anyone who can confirm this situation. Thanks

Sorry to say this but before we get a load of old tosh on here that's ill informed why don't you just go down to the council offices and ASK!!!.
Then you can post the facts not the hearsay, sorry if I sound a bit grumpy but this wall over the last few weeks can degenerate very quickly.

Weejohnten I think you are completely out of order speaking to people like that. It Takes Two are quite within their rights to ask questions on the forum.

I am reliably informed by the administrator of our community who also works for other communities that this scheme is already being introduced in El Raso and the community president has been told by the local council that they have to collect the money from all the residents in their community. So I would not be surprised if this turns out to be more than just a rumour but lets hope that it does not happen in La Marina.

I say again go and ask at the council office how difficult is that! Or do we want another load of tittle tattle like we have had re bar noise etc. The people concerned are logged on from La Marina the office is open everyday 10 till 2pm.

i remember quite a lot about this being in the freebies last year.It was to do with Torrievieha.
It stated that anybody with a drive would have to pay for the privilege of using it,those who couldnt or wouldnt will have to pay to have the drive across the pavement relayed to just leave a pavement of the same height and finish as the area either side of the pavement drive. Those who did pay annually would have the official metal sign placed near by which forbids parking alongside the pavement drive in.
as I mentioned this was only in Torrey,I have not heard of it in or around La Marina

This is from Jeffs blog regarding drives.

Parking in your own Driveway
For those who have asked about the above theme, At this moment I have heard nothing either from the Police our the Town Hall´s Technico Dept regarding this. I am having a meeting with the Mayor this morning and I will bring it up at the meeting.. I do know that residents who are having problems with persons parking accross their driveways, particularly on market days, can apply for a Vado, which prohibits the parking in front of their driveway. There is a cost involved and with administration charges it can cost as much as €250

I think Jeff has this down to a art now. What more could you want, he knows we all discuss topics on here. Expel this driveway post started yesterday and Jeff has already cleared it up.
Job well done.

Its Honestly not meant as a go at you I have seen and heard you a few times and enjoyed it. However in recent times it has got to be more of a complaint & moans forum, hope your music is not to loud (know what I mean) Cheers John

Weejohn if you are getting at me because I do not like backing music that overpowers the singers then i will inform you that I have actually booked Take Two, last year at the Sports Complex and was very impressed with them, so, your sarcasm is wasted on me. Sorry to disappoint you.
