keeping flowers

In December One of our 10, yep 10, grandchildren is getting married in UK. We have our lovely bouganvillia and would love to take some of the blossom to use instead of confetti.Last year we kept some of our blossom in a ziplock bag and it could be used but I'm wondering if anybody knows of a better way to preserve it.
