How Do You Get To Madrid By Train

Does anyone or has anyone gone to Madrid by train
I have tried to find if I need to change trains, even what is the route!
But with no success.
I know i'll start at Alicante ? Well one hopes : (

If you go to San Isodro station near Catral you can pick up a timetable from the station. As far as I can remember, the Madrid train stops at certain stations along that route, possibly Orhuela or go onto the Renfa website. Otherwise you will need to get to Alicante.

Go to Alicante station if you are over 60 get yourself a RenfeTargeta Dorada it is a rail card and costs 5.50 euros but will save you much more than that. If you can afford it and it is only a few more euros go first class on the express, non stop very fast train. You can get everything you need on the internet or a good travel agent

You used to be able to get your travel pass, for OAP.s, from San Isidro but I think it is automated ticketing there now.
