Well done to all the people involved in the AAN charity, So many mouths to feed, but 10,000 Euros donation must surely help the needy.
Hopefully this will carry on for as long as it is needed.
I would like to take this opportunity to wish all those involved in this charity, A very Merry Christmas and a Happy New year, also a prosperous one for AAN so that the poor and needy can also enjoy the new year.

Just to inform those who have been asking us how the food and presents for the needy will be distributed to the families this Christmas.

Every month when the food is delivered in bulk to our office from the wonderful AAN Association, and the many, many individuals who bring in parcels, a full stock take is done by volunteers either from the AAN or by our own team of volunteers. The details of the recipients of the food can never be passed to these volunteers, they are only informed that it is a family consisting of, for example, 2 adults and 2 children. Packages are thereafter made up in accordance with the size of the families.

The families are then contacted by myself with the full authorisation of Social Services and the recipients themselves. The families are invited to come to our office over a period of a few days to collect their packages.

A strict control is kept so that only recipients that are nominated by the Social Services receive the packages of food.

It is fairly evident from the responses of the recipients that these donations are very, very much appreciated and vital.

This Christmas we have received a huge donation form the AAN of which we are so incredibly grateful. We have also received a donation of 200€ from the stallholders of the Christmas market, an individual donation of 50€ and countless parcels of food have been donated by people of all nationalities.

We must thank Eugene Grey for his annual donation of fresh fruit and vegetables to be distributed to the families. As usual, we cannot thank him and Sandra enough for their ongoing support. Many, many thanks guys.

Regarding presents for the children this year, people have been incredibly generous with their donations. Again a massive thanks to the AAN who have purchased toys, games and selection boxes for the needy children.

Many thanks to Connie and his wife from the Woodstock who, again this year, have donated such wonderful handmade toys and clothing for the children.

Many thanks to Nadine Scott and members of her craft classes for the beautiful boxes and presents.

So many people, whose names we do not know, have donated so much for the needy children this year.

You can all be assured that this Christmas all of these children will have a huge smile on their faces on Christmas morning, thanks to the huge generosity of all the people of so many nationalities of San Fulgencio who have donated parcels.

Please note, the Office of the Urbanisations will be closed from Wednesday 24th Dec at midday until Monday the 29th. All Townhall offices will be closed on New Year´s Eve, 1st, 2nd and 6th January. This office however will also be closed to the public on the 5th January.
