Not been hearing much on here about the bars etc around the Hogs head area must be all good now.
Well posted Alan. But will people bother? Far too many firmly believe and stupidly state that there vote will not make a difference, but that is so wrong, that was the excuse so many of you made back in the UK. But the truth is over here YOUR VOTE WILL MATTER.
As I do not go and drink in these establishments, I do live here and now and then have a coffee. It would be nice if persons behind the bar said "Good Morning, Afternoon) with a smile instead of looking glum or texting and even lately reading without even looking up to see who I was. Ennebe bar at the top is up for sale. The Big eat is up for sale. Serafins is still up for sale. La luz, Bar Bar, Chief O'neils are empty and still up for sale, Temptations, plus numerous other units.....And that's only in this small area. What about up by the police station??? Hogs head changes hands this week and the new owners will need all the luck they can get. (Lets hope the neighbour is watching) Of course he is....

I agree, we should all vote, but the problem is, and a BIG problem, we don't know who to vote for, we don't know what any Party is promising, there is total apathy by the Partys that are standing, they don't tell us anything, we don't know anything about them, so how can we vote ?

Completely agree with you, about no one tells you what is occurring until it has happened, Which is a shame as I would like to feel that us residents, are paying for the Councillors to do what we want done, instead they seem to tell us what we are going to get.
Regarding the promises they will make to get us to vote for any particular party, we will have to wait until the beginning of May as in Spain they have a certain time window, to give us the spiel, which must cease on the 22nd May. I intend on speaking to as many of them as possible and have a little rant every so often at them, asking awkward questions where I believe needed. I have spoken to Jeff this week, and also e-mailed Mark (and received a reply within 24 hours)using the e-mail request on his web-site page. (in his reply he took exception to my calling it a blog and insists its a web site). In my mind it would be nice for a party to win seven seats and thereby not have to call in an independent to shore up the Council, Unfortunately even if the Independents could all agree on one strategy, they would all argue over who gets the cream positions, so only the national Spanish Parties can gain a majority, which I believe would not be good for La Marina Urbs. But if every one who can vote and votes for the best party (Independent or National) and makes sure they know that they need us more than we need them, perhaps they will start treating the Urbs with the respect we deserve
Just read on Jeffs Blog, some of the things that the PIPN would like to do if they get enough votes and have a least a bit of power on a new Council, They make good reading but good reading and good action can be entirely different. We will not be able to question these until the Manifestos are released in a couple of weeks time. but from what the two independent parties have said as yet, I am beginning to take a great liking to the PIPN ideas, much more than I am to the AP ideas, I have given up on the PP after the last four years and have yet to hear from the PSOE. Not forgetting and other Parties who may not of shown .there hand yet. I just hope that if an Independent party gets in most voters have selected the same party, as this will make a big difference to how many seats they have on the Council and therefore how much La Marina Urbs, benefit
Too early in the season, wait for warmer evenings. But strong rumour Hogs Head changes hands after this week end.
For the people who enjoy living on La Marina Urbs, who are not happy with the complaints against bars being too noisy, or in fact those who think its better to have a bit of noise at night ,or even those who don't mind noise until a reasonable cut off time or those who love peace and quiet, Then surely 24th May should have a marker on your Calendar, that is the day you should take a few minutes to go and vote, it gives you all a chance to vote for who you trust and rely on, to do for La Marina Urbs,just what you want done.
So whatever you moan about or applaud, get out and vote for that party, or do what so many of us seem to do, and leave it all for others to do, so that we can spend the next four years, moaning about something we could of changed but are too idle to do something you could so easily do, it we were not so complacent.
As usual my opinion, but that has got to be better than not having an opinion.
