August Summer Fiesta
Please can anybody confirm if the Fiesta, normally held on the Consum Square over the first weekend in August, is taking place this year as we are coming out to La Marina next Saturday. Thank you.
Thank you for that info ..... But why has it been moved from a large open space where you could sit and watch or stand and enjoy the acts to a much smaller venue on the Strip? Or am I asking a daft question here?
The Spanish restaurants put money into the councils election fund on the understanding that the fiesta would be changed nuff said
There is a surprise!!! It makes a change from the usual brown envelope under the table. Silly of me to think it was done to benefit the tax paying community like myself. What are they going to do - erect a stand so everybody can see? Why mess with something that has worked well for years?
The Fiesta used to be moved around the Urbanisation but for the last 4 years it was in Consum square.Moving it gives all bars a chance of more income not just the few around consum square.
I can understand that and seem to recall having been to the Fiesta on the Sunday Market car park previously. It is a pity though when the Square is so well set out for the event. Do we have any info on who the acts are that will be appearing this year? Thank you.
I've heard the foam is being cancelled and there is only a few acts on is this true ?
Apart from the Rolling Stones tribute & the Michael Jackson tribute (hopefully its NOT the same Michael Jackson guy that mimes the whole act), a disappointing line up this year.......

Im glad its up there, we don't make that much money out of it and its loads of work, we took 200 euro less on Friday with 4 less staff. Loads of hassle. welcome to it I say.
I don't think it's the job of the council to pander to any bar. The fiesta is for the people to enjoy and it should be placed in the best locashion considering public safety and capacity .
If the move about is a real issue and attempt to help bar owners, then. I wounder if it will be by the police station next year .
This council will kill the fiesta and also the tourism that the fiesta attracts
The Rolling stones tribute was awful last night, we all stayed for 3 songs and left, because they where so bad. Think we'll give it a miss tonight, the fiesta is just not the same anymore.
Went friday night didnt like the michael jackson show (my opinion) wife did thought the Spanish Band were good musicians and good singer my fault i couldnt understand them.Went last night Magician was good but not the correct type of venue for this type of act,BB King Tribute very good didnt know I new so many of his songs thought Stones Tribute was very good singer got into the part very well but if you didnt know the Stones early lp,s then you might not have liked them.Looking forward to tonight.All in all very good hope they do move it again next year though.
This year the stage will be outside Bayleaf Restaurant on Plaza Sierra Castilla on 7th,8th 9th August.
