This is info - I am informing everyone of this Bargain property that has just been Reduced. Within reason it's a variety of different things on main page that makes the forum a good one !!

This page is constantly filled up with house sales and rentals and to be honest it is very annoying. As the previous comment states there is a page for this!!

I agree with Carol it is informing clients of this opportunity and the forum is one of the best places to advertise this.

Cannot see what the problem is I allow this on Torrevieja life and Almoradi Life!!!!!!

I agree, the My Spanish Life section should only be for people wanting to talk to each other what they are doing in their life, what they have found of interest etc or make recommendations. If someone wants to sell a property they should put it on the sale section.

I have to say this forum is very boring, the same old, same old, day in day out

If you do not like it do not use it then. Use some of the other boring forums where you cannot put any ads or are continuosly told off and have to do as they say so.
At least on this site you can put on almost anything you like as long as it is not offensive or malicious.

Completely agree with you Rio. We also allow it on the La Marina site. If people don't like it tough - as you say - plenty of other forums you can post on, but you have to abide by all the stupid Rules & Regulations, and in the end you do not know what you can and can't do. This forum really has no stipulations within reason !! Anyway, I welcome all your comments because it's keeping my Bargain property top of the page - keep up the good work all you Anonymouses !!

Hi All

When this website was re launched it wasnt at all boring, it was filled with interesting and informative stuff where forum users exchanged purposeful helpful information,they also shared experiences and offered advice and guidance to those who requested it.

Its only since the site became bombarded with advertising that it has indeed become boring.

So far as those advertisers who suggest we scroll down and read something else, how rude of you, is this your site, no I didnt think so and besides whats to scroll down to, another advert?

To be fair if the advertisers contributed anything other than theyre own adverts to the forum maybe they wouldnt be so frowned upon

With regard to the owners of the Spanish life websites I dont suppose they will get rid of the advertisers from the front page altogether lets face it they've driven everyone away so without adverts whats there to read about.

That said I maintain my position in that this wasnt a boring site in the beginning.

Try and look it another way, if you were a newcomer to the area or considering a move here and wanting to find out about life on quesada because maybe you were thinking about investing in a property to enjoy a new life in the sun, youd be forgiven for thinking its a good idea to read all about it on the quesada life forum ?

Well no, you'd take one look at this forum and say " no nothing here for me, boring an uninteresting, I think ill look at Tenerife" !

Couldn't agree more 'we love it here'. People who might have wanted to contribute have obviously gone away because all of these sites are now so boring. Anyone out there want to start a Quesada site that is just for US? And I too thought it very rude to suggest other people should scroll down to find something more interesting. Shan't be coming back. I should think the poor souls who have actually paid for banner adverts must be sick as parrots!The torreviejaforum.com is much more informative and fun.

I'm afraid I can't really see a problem. If it wasn't for the adverts and the complaints against them, then the sites not updated very much. Plus I admit to having a sneaky look every now and again just to look how much my property has devalued or what Icould have bought now for the same money....
I'm also a member of other forums around the area and feel like its stepping on broken glass if your not in a particular clique and you'd be banned for mentioning another forum.

P.S. Carol/Rio Please remember me if any of your clients need help with their Air Conditioning......... :-)

In answer to the postings above. I'm sure we all use other forums, as well as Spanish Life, and they all have their pros & cons.I like popping into Spanish Life and others. However, I hope I'm not banned for saying this (see Select Air's comments above LOL) but I have recently found another forum called talkquesada (one word). It is new and it's a discussion & information forum for just the Quesada areas and does not have commercial/company advertisements. It's worth a look - Even the areas of Quesada are individually sectioned for those that want to chat to friends, neighbours etc. Although there is a general discussion part of the forum and more.

Carol, your adverts are ruining this website, and your photo is scary. go away.

Hey Rob - I don't know why you're picking on me. I'm not the only one up here advertising a property For Sale. I think my photo is a good one - at least I've bothered to put a photo up here - unlike yourself - you haven't even managed to sign in correctly and register your name properly - perhaps you should register properly as that makes the site look unprofessional with people coming up as Anonymous!!

I agree with the comment by Select Air - if it wasn't for a lot of you miserable people up here moaning, this site would hardly be used and that would be even more boring. SO, at least my posting has made this Quesada site *Come to life*.

thank you for your supportive comments.

Im not sure if starting another website is a good idea. Wouldnt it be better if we stuck with it ad tried to create new threads. We can all still talk to each other on here if we wish an maybe if we persisted and made a real effort we wouldnt feel so overtaken with the adverts.

I was sorry to see what looks like the beginnings of a personal slanging match between carole and anonymous (im aware there is more than one anonymous) it not great to attack people personally, I was trying to offer constructive criticism in the hope of bringing the site back to how it used to be.

Might I respectfully suggest that Carole, like "eddies shop" simply add a one liner in the form of a link to her properties without all of the detail, then she might to like to go on and tell us something about her interesting experiences of the la marina area. (just a thought)

Also I noticed Carole did point out that the negative responses to her ads were keeping her on the front page, well I dont see that as a positive, all that tells me is the property still hasnt sold ad while im aware the economy is in a bad way, nonetheless i wouldnt want folks to know that im not making sales but thats just my opinion.

In conclusion and by way of comparison this is my take on the current situation, you Quesadians may be aware of a hugely successful Drama series on ITV in the UK that recently ended called Downtown Abbey? well Im a huge fan and ITV were inundated with complaints about the amount of adverts that interupted the show, the main advertiser being AXA life insurance. Now I have nothing against AXA life per say and they might even be a great company but ill never know as I wouldnt buy from them if they were the last company on earth and thats for one reason only, YES they have annoyed me so much with the onslaught of their advertising that on principle I just wouldnt give them my money.

So, their brand imaging and attempts at customer brainwashing just havent worked with me or thousands of others in fact its done the opposite big style and sent us all running for the hills.

For what its worth my philosophy is "always leave your clients wanting more"

Hi love it here. In answer to your comments regarding Christmas lunch. Lin my gaffer has decided that we will go to the UK for Christmas and she will cook for 14 of us. 3 kids in their 30's with their wifes/husbands that's 6 and 6 Grandkids and the 2 of us. She must be mad leaving the better climate here and only cooking for the both of us in preference to spending a month of the UK climate and not only cooking for 14 but clearing up because everyone as gone home leaving us 2 to it.

your gaffer is a woman after my own heart. Beleive it or not Christmas in the UK is one of the main reasons I havent relocated to Quesada permanently.

As a self confessed christmas freak I wouldnt have it any other way, its just not the same without cosy fireside gatherings cooking for the masses and loading the dishwasher in between chocolates and snoozing and besides I love the traditional decorations and it just isnt the same any where else.

I accept the Three Kings is a lovely Spanish tradition and I do love the spanish culture but nothing compares to a traditional English christmas in my humble opinion.

Of course living in Newcastle upon Tyne means its very authentic as its bloody freezing come christmas so its all very north pole up here !!!!!

I also have two tiny grandchildren to fuss over this year and I must say I am absolutley bursting with excitement.

I hope you do have fab christmas and that your trip back is truly worth it and you can be the first to start a new thread on this page when you return and tell us all about the experience.
