la Marina

Let's say it out loud. WE LOVE LA MARINA, and we love Spain. It may not be the most perfect place in the world, some people may have problems with noise, roads etc, but tell me a place where thay don't have problems.
I'm going to start a La Marina support group. We're down on Oasis and yes, we're having problems with roads, but I've lived in UK and had problems with roads and noise just the same.
We've called our house "Our little heaven", in spanish of course and I'm proud to say I LOVE LA MARINA. Do you?

I think we ALL agree La Marina is pretty good, that's why we live here.
Progress, well things do change, unfortunately not always for the better, after reading the likes of these forums it is obvious that lot of people who live in the original properties are suffering by some of the changes inflicted on them.
Can it be made better, yes it can and we shouls all work towards doing so.
I myself have become more and more aware of the noise issue thanks to this forum, in so much as I now try and keep my voice down and don’t slam my car door etc when leaving the local restraint / café.
I think it is an excellent idea that people raise these concerns on open forums such as this as it’s the only way we educate ourselves and learn about these issues.
I do however take exception when some ignoramus tells local residents to move out of their homes because some bar has opened up creating X amount of noise keeping them awake half the night, especially when the bar may well be operating outside of the law without the correct licence etc etc.

I will be over in a couple off months to buy and all this negative talk about la marina has not put me off .

I agree with you Mick, in fact I think its been very good that local people have let us know on the forum what real life is in the area, at least we will not have any shocks, and what we are getting into.

Have you found a place to buy yet?

Hola Mick
So at least you know some areas to avoid buying, and some places to go for entertainment eating out etc
PS if you like a good steak try Ramon's in the grey area best to book at least 4/5 days in advance

mick, if you're thinking of buying now is the time as there are real bargains about. Try El Oasis. Were about 5 mins out of town and 6 mins from the beach. Our roads are a mess at present but that will eventually be sorted. We've been here 5 years and have even organised our funerals here. We love this place and we're near enough for the amenities but far enough away. Don't be put off by the moaners but learn from them and don't live too close to the bars if you don't like noise x
