Thanks Mike I dont agree with anything you said but at least you have put a name to it. I for one enjoy going for a night out on the Urb and I dont think all this talk is doing anybody any good. It is not a crime to enjoy yourself and i have had a house here for 8 yrs and it is no noisier now than it ever was,

Any person can state that they have a licence but who knows if they have?

By the way just to wind things up a bit,you mentioned all your profits go to charity,Is it an english,spainish,or other country charity,are you registered or do you just drop the money in a tin.I am not particulary bothered,but you have to be careful what you say on this forum people are allowed to put whatever slant on it they like

Can i just say, from what ihave seen on the forum there are only 2-3 bars that have the correct legall entertainment/music licence. (correct me if im wrong please). So that leaves every bar in la marina/San Fulgencio who does kareoke,entertainment or so on breaking the law, Wrong, if the council and bar owners have come to an agreement which it sounds like they have then no law is really being broken. Everyone is making a huge fuss about bars that do not have correct licenes and paperwork. All there trying to do is make a go of things keep la marina entertaining and alive. It annoys me that the bars are being hounded about noise and correct paperwork why arent all these people hounding groups out there that are doing charity work and taking donations and accepting money without the correct license and paperwork. Just because the word "charity" is used makes no difference. The bar owners are trying to do there best these charity groups WHO HAVE NO LEGAL CHARITY NUMBERS OR PAPERWORK are trying to do there best.
So if people want to keep talking about bars breaking the law im going to keep talking about CHARITY GROUPS WHO ACCEPT MONEY AND HAVE NOT GOT THE CORRECT PAPERWORK OR LICENCE.

Yes Alan but we do not know what is correct anyway.

Andi, if you condone a lack of paperwork and/or licences how do you feel about a) No car Tax,b) no insurance etc.

If there is an accident or a fight in one of these bars is there 3rd party or public liability insurance in place. I would ecpect not!

To be honest paperwork over here is a miss everywhere. This is not the UK where most things are inspected before opening and so on.
Here its let get it all open and ask questions later, if any bar is without public liability i fill sorry for them

Can I just say that in a country where you can get together with the local police chief, Mayor and all the other people in a position of power in the area and build hundreds of houses on land that only has permission for a few, then the paperwork for a bar does not even come close.

How long has this problem been going on?
It looks like the Bar owners have all been told what they need.
Guess it's a case of we have a new council so lets try and get away with it if we can. Sorry Bar owners, you know the rules, the council have made it quite clear.

What a load of Tosh. If that is followed through then Valencia have successfully managed to find a plan to close down the whole area. It will not all happen at once but bit by bit. Bars will not be able in the Summer months to operate like that. Holiday makers and residents alike, are used to sitting out in the nice warm summer months enjoy a pint a meal and listen to music. We do not wish to be in a fairly small bar packed in like sardines and suffer air-conditioning.
Spain will really go down the tubes if this comes in. If this is why the new councillors are saying so little I kind of understand. My question is to them have you got the B***s or political knowledge to get it sorted. I think perhaps not.
