Reply to Ispy & Andy

Just to keep you up to date:
We were informed by a member of staff on the council as a courtesy and I do not see the reason to reveal this persons' name. It is irrelavant to, as you say,'expose' this person as they are doing their best to try & give us a heads up to another insane situation brought on by the rantings of the persistant moaners here in La Marina. Andy, this is not a wind up as I knew last week from Jeff before he went on holiday to Poland that the police were putting the pressure on the bars that are serving under-aged children. Another person made the effort to visit most of the bars with this sad news about shutting down entertainment. Why do you think this person is in the wrong? They were being helpful with this information to prevent anybody being fined as with the spanish laws being adhered to in some towns due to the amount of complaints received & I can honestly tell you that no one wants to be a scapegoat or an example with a € 5,000.00 fine. I posted my message to try & get some of the residents to see if we can expose these habitual moaners & show them what they are doing to the urbanisation. It's not just about the individual bars but the knock-on effect from this madness. All the bar staff, the D'J's & possibly the Quiz-Masters & all their families that rely on their income will initially feel the stoppage. Then it will be all the food & liquor suppliers & then down to the bars & restaurants & finally to the basic infrastructure of supermarkets & public services. We need to tell these people to stop what they are doing TOTALLY!!!!! They are slowly destroying this urbanisation with their selfishness. If this continues, as another person had said, you will see the home prices plummet even further than they are now. After all, who wants to live in an area where there is nothing but a few bars & restaurants that have a little background music with nothing else to do. I can even see them stopping bingo (gasp!) if this keeps going on. Then what?
Come on folks, it's NOT a witch hunt against a person that tries to give us fair warning about our livlihoods being threatened. If I were them, I would do the same to try & help out & prevent any business from going under & effecting others' lives.

Alan Anders- Temptations

Alan then I will apoligise. There are only two people in that town hall who would of passed this info to you. I won't name them but they should of made the announcement through the town hall. That's therejobs write, to look after the residents

Andi anyone who warns the bars of impending police action is doing them a favour by helping them to avoid big fines, if someone flashed you to warn you of an a speed trap would you publicly name them so that the police could prosecute them for helping you.
these bars need all the help and support we can give them and i for one would be grateful for the heads up

Richie I agree with what you say but why is it not a public notice why does it come from one bar owner then the hogs head say after speaking to Al it's true.
It's just passed on info day after day from mouth to mouth. Surely there must be a easier way to put it out there, than leaving it to bar owners to tell everyone. Hence I'm in a bar wrote now and they had no idea of this or what had been said about the national police now there all worried because what's going on.

Commented Andi in La Marina 2012-11-02 09:15:51 UTC

Because it is not allowed to be a public notice, the best way to get a tip to the bar owners is to tell them directly i have no doubt that there are people on here that will use this incident for political gain to try to say the council do nothing to help us but if they were seen to warn people of impending action that would give critics ammunition as would not warning people
so how do they do it.... quietly have a word in the ear?
seems to me that when the council try to help they get slammed for it so why bother?

Commented Richie in La Marina 2012-11-02 09:21:50 UTC

Again ill agree. I'm not slamming the council for this but if the national police do come in and start closing places we all know where the bar owners will be heading, straight to the town hall when. Which is wrong because the only reason there here is complaints from the public.

After speaking to a couple of people I know who have bars, they have cancelled music for this weekend and possibly longer.
So to Al I apoligise and yup you were correct.
So anyone who is holding any entertainment or fundrasiers on the Urb I'd rethink it because you could end up getting the bar closed down.

What a sad state of affairs NOW look what the moaners have achieved, you really are a thick bunch of to**ers cant you see what your actions could do long term? maybe you dont own property here and are after ruining everyones life here because you have such a SAD life I bet you are bundles of fun

Richie, I can't agree with you more. Basically we were getting a tip off from the council for which we can only be thankful. People are too quick at 'shooting the messenger'. There is nothing to gain from naming the counciller that spoke to me. Although I will add that I was told that it's not just music but karaoke, discos, quizzes and bingo too. I was advised to stop everything that involved using a microphone. There are ways around the last two for us so bingo and our quiz will not be cancelled in Cagneys. Keep up the good work with the radio station, still loving the choice of music. Sorry I can't advertise in your gig guide this week as I haven't got any gigs booked now. Just spent my afternoon cancelling all my artists!

Thank you for that Kate I am glad that what we are doing at the station is bringing a little pleasure in these gloomy days, I only hope that you and Ricky can continue to provide a great service until all this gets sorted out. I am just wondering how long it will take for the moaners to start commenting that my music offends their ears. however they will have an uphill battle as the legality of this station is not in question. but at least they can turn the radio Off

Oi your music is great Richie I'd like to hear some old Skool Garage tunes but I think you'd lose all your listeners.

Commented Andi in La Marina 2012-11-02 17:16:22 UTC

Thanks Andi i wonder if we put 20 little radios in each bar on the tables and i played local artists music they would complain?????

Commented Richie in La Marina 2012-11-02 17:21:33 UTC

I agree with everything you have said alan. I don't think these people with their complaints realise what a knock on effect all this is going to have. Not only the bar owners and families are going to suffer, which is terrible. So are the charities. Charities like the Childrens Orphanage in Elche, the Butterfly Children, Sats, K9 and so many more who get financial help from bar owners who care enough to lay on events to raise money for these charities. Will they sleep at night, yes, because they are too selfish to consider anyone or anything. As long as they can go on living there mundane boring, who cares about anyone else, as long as we are alright lives.
