With everyone complaining about the Council and noisey bars and folk saying it must be the few.I asked Paulino how many are registered on the Padron well would you beleive 14,742 not forgetting that the number of local Police or wether we can have a local Fire service(nearest Torrevieja)is all dependant on the Padron figures makes one wonder doesnt it??
I wonder if any one knows figures for Padron totals,
for things like fire station, school, and the numerous other things we need in La Marina, and if they do now,who supplies the official figures
What do you mean by Totals the number stated is the total of all those registered on the Padron
Understand that david,What i meant was how many names do you need on a padron to push for a school to be built in that vicinity, how high must the padron be to have a guardia Civil stn,or a Fire Stn.
All of these must have have a number of residents(people on padron)before you can apply for them
When I came here ten years ago anyone could sign on the padron but I've heard that now you need to have residencia to go onto the padron.
Is this correct? If so how many people who would face reduced pension credits and all other benefits they receive will take on residence and lose the lot?
Peter Horsfield - When I came here ten years ago anyone could sign on the padron but I've heard that now you need to have residencia to go onto the padron.
Not true Peter.
I am registered on the padron, I have an NIE number but i'm not a resident.
I dont claim anything i am not entitled to either from the UK or the Spanish system, so i suppose you have to decide whether you live here or there and abide by their rules.
My understanding is the Padron register just helps the community (our community) get a bigger slice of the budget to provide more/better services for all of us. If i'm wrong i'm sure someone will correct me.
The Ayuntamiento are now doing things as per the law and you do need to be resident & have the registration certificate to prove it before they will let you sign on the padron. It is however the case that some years ago they did not enforce this rule.
It makes sense not to have non residents on it as it gives you the right to vote.
I wonder how many of the 14000 odd were non residents who have since left, a fair few I would think?
Zenophant - i registered on the padron in September this year. I do not have residencia.
Residencia for the padron !! Healthcare !!! people have just bought a house by me as a holiday home, they live and work in the U.K. signed on the padron (no residencia) and THEN applied for a SIP card and both recieved a 6 month temporary one, they are only planning coming here for a few weeks next year !!!!!!!! whats all that about ??????????
When I moved house recently, although I had been on the padron for many years at another address in San Fulgencio, I was told by the staff at the Ayuntamiento that it is the law and I had to show "Certificado de registro de cuidado de la union" (more commonly and wrongly referred to as residencia) papers for each family member before they would change our padrons to the new address also within San Fulgencio.
Why is everything not a level playing field in the EU? (It was rhetorical I don't want an answer)To vote in the UK a citizen of any other EU country, (and dozens of other countries besides), need only live in the UK - no jumping through hoops and endless queuing for residency necessary.
We tried to sign on the Padron, but because we do not live on the Urb full-time and do not have residencia, as we still have homes in the UK, we were not able to. I know that you can sign on the Padron in other areas as we have had properties in Torre and Javea.
I had to register on the padron when I bought a car privately. The abogada insisted on this fact!! I have a holiday home in Spain which I use for three months of the year - and so do not have residencia.
Sorry David but I don't understand what your point is. Yes the services provided are dependent on the number of people on the padron, why is the number you quoted significant?
We have been on the padron since 2004 and we did not move here permanetly until 18 months ago.
When we bought our car, we had to update our padron and then again to get the temporary SIP card we had to remew it again.
You can go onto the Padron from the Town Hall here in La Marina, I think you do have to have your NIE number.
They asked me for my passport and NIE no when I went to the office for the padron.
Momo, or should I say Pauline?
I noticed when you first posted your response to this post a few days ago your avatar photo was the same one as used by Pauline, now it has been changed to a photo of a dog!
What a clever bitch?
Hi Sandra, I'm definitely momo.
I cant find the post where you say i'm Pauline!
The dog is my dog and has been for 7 years, he's a male by the way.
I responded to the post in all honesty just to say i registered on the Padron in September and didnt have a problem.
I'm not even sure why i'm replying to your post because i'm not sure what your asking or saying...
Wow Sandra,Hope you are a Friend of Pauline, and that your comment was in jest.
As it happens it wouldnt be the first time on this Forum, that somebody,hs made a mistake regarding an avator.
Would hate to see things turning dirty on here
I always keep my padron up to date to try to ensure we have enough facilities and services to fit the volme of people needing them. There are too many on La Marina who cannot go on padrons and get residencias because of fraudulant claims they make on the English benefits schemes, it is just not on. Senora Alto
Oh very below the belt Senora Alto, who do you know that makes fraudulant claims on the English benefit system that live here in La Marina???? That is a big accusation to make, so where is your proof.
And who told you that ex. pats cannot claim what they are legally able to claim (their right to claim) and have a legal padron and residencia here????
you have just hit on why so many brits have returned to England as the Social had a purge on people claiming benefits they did not qualify for if they had left the country. It was amazing how many headed for the airport before lose what they where not entitled to. Mind I am pleased this happened as the area I live in was full of the ones gloating at how much they got out of England that they where not entitled to
How the might have fallen and not before time lol Senora Alto
Well I noticed my Bank Account has increased by 200 pounds today, thanks to the U.k. Government giving me my annual cold weather payment.
What is more i will enjoy spending it,no matter how many people think it isnt fair for me to receive it.
Momo, or should I say Pauline?
I also remember seeing a post that had the same avatar as Pauline signed off in the name of Momo! I have just now done a search on this forum for "Momo" and there are no other posts except the one where Momo denies being Pauline! The only answer to this I can think of is that someone (presumably either Pauline or Momo) have deleted the original post, in which case they must be the same person.
Because i didnt notice the comment you noticed,I will not comment on the rights and wrongs of that comment.
This is just to say surely it would of been as easy for Pauline to do what you do,and dont use an avator. If that had been done nobody would notice
I will make a trip to my bank tomorrow or Friday as if my cold weather allowance is in my bank I may be able to get a short break away, out of this, as I have no chance of saving for a break with the meager pension I get. Senora Alto
Pauline, as Don has confirmed, it was your avatar on the original post by Momo, now it cannot be found even in a full search on the forum, it has been deleted!
Who are you really?
Sandra, I am Pauline and as I said above I DO NOT KNOW anyone called momo, and dont know why she or he had my avatar. if Steve from Spanish Life can shed any light on this I would appreciate it. I only come on here to advertise the fundraisers that I arrange for the needy, and dont get involved with any other articles. If you want to speak to me Sandra you can get me telephone no on here and I will confirm who I am
I've actually logged on before and found my avatar was 2nd Casa's. I had there picture in the little box and all my comments had there picture there. So I can actually say sometimes you will see other users pictures in your picture box.
I have no idea why but it has happend to me when I've logged on and my comments appear but they have 2nd Casa's name next to the post. Not Andi.
Wrong way around. They have 2nd Casa's picture but with my name.
Thanks Andi, I havent signed on as momo and would never do so, if I had something to say I would say it.
Pauline I am momo and don't know you either.
My avatar is my dog, it has never been changed since i joined this site, also i have never deleted anything i have written on here (which is not a lot) and i'm sure the site owner can verify this.
I only responded to the original post about the padron because it was what had happened to me personally.
Then i assumed that Sandra knew you personally as she called you a bitch... which i thought was pretty offensive for a public forum.
Anyway Pauline it would have been nice to have met you under different circumstances.
I would like to confirm that i am not you and never have been.
And If someone would like to tell me what this is all about it would be really appreciated.
Do you need to have residencia to sign on the padron?
We have had quite a few answers but nothing definite from any one in authority.
This just shows what the paperwork in Spain is like. Absolute Rubbish!
what a load of caffuffle gets bandied around on this site, I thought you now needed residencia to get a padron, as my friend had to do this to get his. It could all have changed mind, as rules and regulatios in Spain change constantly. Senora Alto.
No you dont, you need your passport and go to the town hall, Ive just done it and it takes about ten minutes
thanks for the information, not that it is relevant to me as I have both certificates, it just shows that what my neighbour told me is poppycock as he said he needed a residencis before he could have a padron, which I thought was ridiculous, anyhow sorted now thanks Senora Alto
Go to settings and you can add one, but remember to add your password at the top, if not no changes you make will be saved.
Interesting to see that you query who I am, but at least I have a picture of myself and my husband (Peter) Hmm just a thought its strange how you do not use a photo of yourself so that nobody knows who you are. Any chance of posting a photo of yourself for future posting PROBABLY NOT!!!!!. Oh by the way I would appreciate an apology for being called a clever bitch, who do you think you are
To follow on from what Steve posted ref Avatar when you get to settings press find Avatar sign and then PRESS browse then click on a photo that is stored in your computer. It will then upload onto this system.
I have just tried to add an avatar unsuccessfully, but did upload a nice photo, here is hoping this works. Senora Alto
Pauline, it has already been established that other posts have appeared on the forum previously with someone else's avatar, so it looks like it was a little glitch in the system. My first post on this subject was light hearted and not serious, I do not understand what made you react so.
This original post is regarding the population and people signing on the padron. You and Peter have been involved in so many different activities and jobs, as recorded on this forum and the other local forum. May I ask If both of you are on the padron and do you both have a residency a certificate?
You dont give up do you.You have been shown to be wrong when claiming a comment had been taken off this link, and appeared to say it was by Pauline or momo, both denied this.
You obviously are not a friend of Paulines so i gather, your comment for her was rude and needed an apology, but you are obviosly not gracious enough to do that, instead you blame her for overreacting, and then as if you havnt made yourself look silly enough you ask her ,if she andPeter have a residencia and a padron,I cannot see what business it is of yours or the other readers of this comment, what it has to do with us.
So stop your petty vendetta against her and get yourself a life.
Ditto Alan, Sandra seems a very rude lady and you are so right, why should Pauline & Peter tell her personal info.
We have just come back from the Christmas fete which Pauline helps to organise, at the back on AJ's bar, giving her time for nothing - being a volunteer to support and raise money for the childrens home.
Well said Alan.
Pauline did not over react, I was also annoyed but wasn't willing to continue with this and lower myself to Sandra's level.
Bitch is Bitch in anybody's language, nothing lighthearted about it.
Linda, I have also just been to the Christmas Fete, which was lovely by the way, having not been on the Urb that long i didn't realise it was the same Pauline from this site, Had i known i would have introduced myself and got someone to take a photo of us both.
How rude Sandra to ask for personal information from Pauline, while you remain faceless rude lady,,,
My comments on this post have been in line with others that have been made by different forum members:
"I've actually logged on before and found my avatar was 2nd Casa's. I had there picture in the little box and all my comments had there picture there. So I can actually say sometimes you will see other users pictures in your picture box. Andi".
"There are too many on La Marina who cannot go on padrons and get residencias because of fraudulant claims they make on the English benefits schemes, it is just not on. Senora Alto".
"No!! I haven't got residencia - but do I have a padron!
Spanglish in Quesada".
"you have just hit on why so many brits have returned to England as the Social had a purge on people claiming benefits they did not qualify for if they had left the country. Señora Alto".
So now I guess people are wondering why both of you, Alan and Linda, have been quick to respond in defense of Pauline and Peter and why they themselves have not responded. Is it because they are not on the padron and do not have residencias?
"My comments on on this post have been in line with others" MY REPLY is Yes " others,Andi concerning the Avator and Don concerning the alleged post that vanished.
A claim by senora Alto, can be discounted as hearsay, according to the things people have told me it is neither Residentia or Padron, have anything to do with the U.K.and as such they do not officially known these things exist. In fact if you are using this as your excuse for your bad manners, you are also insulting the many Brits who have returned home for many different reasons, but I doubt if any of them returned because of padron or residentia problems.(My opinion is that many returned when the collapse of the Pound against the Euro meant thay had lost 33% of their pension, which they needed to live on.Also because the benefits and medical aftercare are so much better in the U.K.
As for people wondering why I am sticking up for Pauline, the answer is it could of been anybody, but nobody should be maligned on this Forum, expecially by someone carrying out a silly vendetta against another member of the Forum.(also i doubt if anybody else is particularily bothered about why i an sticking up for Pauline)
In case your wondering what I am to Pauline,my answer is give me a good upright question and why you need to know,I will be only too pleased to reply.
Until then,Save face and apologise to Pauline
Your last question as to why Pauline hasnt answered, could easily be that she has been busy today(read Lindas and momos
comments)Or it could be that your comments have been seen as what they are,(personal prejustice) in which case she has no need to answer, you have done all that for her by your silly rhetoric
The original reason for this post was to get more people to sign on the padron so we would be able to receive the services an urb this size requires instead of not being recognized by the Spanish government. Because people did not sign the padron La Marina is not able to achieve the desired benefits. We signed on the padron nine years ago and we received our residencias seven years ago.
It would be nice to have an "Official" response as to whether people can or cannot sign on the padron without residencia.
When I say "Official" I mean a proper response not some crackpot who thinks they know the answer - Sandra!
We have been on the padron since 2004 and we did not move here permanetly until 18 months ago.
When we bought our car, we had to update our padron and then again to get the temporary SIP card we had to renew it again.
But we have not yet got our residencia.
Even some of the civil servants are not sure. We have asked for clarification as under the last administration it was a requirement to get a residential first. Now we believe that has been rescinded . I will comment further when I receive a true and positive reply from the Generilitat in Valencia
if you are confused Jeff no wonder the rest of us are, thanks for trying to get the true facts on this matter. Senora Alto
Thanks for your help,in trying to find out the truth of the Padron/Residencia arguement,Jeff,
Would it be possible to also find out if their is a time limit on the Padron, some people seem to think it has to be renewed every five years,Personally I have never officially seen this in writing, all I have been told that in some cases i.eHouse or car purchase, your Padron must be less than three months old. Would appreciate any info.on rules that govern Padron or Residencia.
Right after suckh a long winded debate, ill tell you what you have to do. Ive just done it. you dont need an NIE for your padron, its simply a record of how many people live here. I took my passport into the town hall (didnt have an NIE) it takes ten minutes max and you get it. you can renew it at anytime and may have to now and again. HOPE it clears it all up. People seem to make things so complicated here when they really dont have to
Just received my £200 heating allowance,,,trying to find where I can get two ton of coke for the fire over here,,,same as we used to get from Brentford Gasworks in the 50s,,wheel home in a sack on an old pram through the smog and 4 foot of snow,,happy days
dont you just love it peter...........paper work changes in spain on a day to day basis, but i have got to laugh at people who comment on here who have only lived in spain for a few months telling you what you need to do......dont think they even know what paperwork they even have, let alone what you need it for lmao
I too remember the old pram or push bike, going to the slag heaps and gleaning coal from the waste, we where like black clocks when we got home, but I never remember being put straight in the bath, like we would do nowadays, we did not drop down with one germ mind like they seem to do now.
goonerpeter,Oh yes those were the good old days,Still remember every saturday morning getting up at 6 am,,grabbing the old pram, walk for nearly two miles to Fulham power station, with a couple of oversized coal bags, queue up,give the guy an extra sixpence and had the oversized bags filled to the brim with coke, then start the long hard walk home, normally just having time for a rest and clean up before going to either Craven Cottage,or Stamford Bridge with my wooden rattle,to have a scream and shout, and calling the players and refs.what ever you wanted to,without any body taking offence
O those were the days
I received a list of the different Nationalies who are registered here in San Fulgencio. The figures as of August 2012 were that there were 12,638 person on the register and there were 59 different Nationalities. There are approximately 11,000 properties in the Municipality. If each property has an average of 2 persons, then in an ideal world we would have 22,000 on the Padron, 65% being Extranjeros. This would certainly entitle the Municipality to a lot more Services and funding.
Yes, happy days, some people say you should not look back but I love it,part of our social history,,,collect the acumulator that was on charge at the bike shop once a week for the wireless,, this was a large glass jar full of acid,,the wireless was 4 foot x 4 foot with valves, stood on an old table that was eaten away with acid,,listen to 'meet the huggets 'Al Reed' 'Billy Cotton' 'Ron N Eff' 'Archie Andrews', bloke walking in front of the trolleybus with a lamp in smog,,10 overcoats on the bed to keep warm,, carbolic soap with bits of grit,,kids having their heads shaved and done with a blue bag,,,lol
Thanks for the info. Jeff concerning the Padron,As you say if all 22000 people living here actually got a Padron,we would receive a lot more funding from the higher authorities, I believe that the particulars on the Padron are not given to other Authorities,so people who think it is,you now have no reason not to sign onto the Padron, you dont need much paperwork to take and apart from the occassional small queue,it doesnt take much time to do.
As I said before, we went to the Office on the Urb, earlier in the year as we wanted to sign on the Padron to enable the area to have more facilities, but we were told that we could not. If things have changed we will try again. We are not hiding, or benefit cheats as somebody implied, we are law abiding and pay our taxes etc in the UK.
Good old days, the london smog , where you bought a ticket for the Bus then walk by the side of it to help the conductor along Holloway road looking for the pavement,( just received my 200 pounds.)
Some peopel on here seem to have a real problem with how long you have lived here. It doesnt matter if you have lived here ten weeks or ten years. If youve done something recently you know the answer to the question. Most of the paperwork here in Spain it seems doea change all the time, but it does back in the UK. It doesnt give you a bigger right to be here just because youve lived here longer or say you have the answer to any question. Its not hard to find anything out here, you simply go and ask.
Wouldnt it be so simple if that was the truth, jescapes, But the odds are if you go to one counter of an office in the morning, then go again in the afternoon, with a question, you will get at least two answers chances are neither will be correct.
But now Jeff has put on his blog, what he has been told by a reliable source ,what documents are required to get your Padron,As it is in the Council and the residents favour for all people to get their Padron,I am sure people will go armed with the correct paperwork,if they are turned away,Jeffs office is next door,I am sure he will sort it out immediately, otherwise he will look a bit of an idiot
been here long enough to know that if you are working you need a contract, and to have a contract you need to have a NIE and a social security number...........so take it that you are not working!!!!!!
Yes i am working full time i have aN NIE number and a national insurance number and pay close on 300 euro into the system every month. But when i recentyly got my padron they just asked me for my passport and it took me ten minutes. I found the guy in the town hall very helpfull.
Oh an Marie, we run a bar in La Marina so I can tell you that the rules change all the time. If you want to cope with changing goal posts, have a business and run a bar
No its not 4 day Marie, you seem to have a big problem which comes to light on here, the question was about the padron< Ill say it once more time. IVE JUST SIGNED ON THE PADRON and all i needed was my passport. Get i life sweetheart, you here is Spain same as anyone else, six months or six years. Its not hard to find out what you have to do if you ask. You just seem to want to argue... So go ahead LOL
Marie, I dont really understand your problem to be honest. One minute you say i cant be working and the next i run a business for 4 days,,,,,Make your mind up! Not sure what you do here, Argue by the looks of it and make yourself look like an idiot. I answered a question based on what ive just done. Get over it. I dont care how long youve lived here. you probably claim from back in the UK. I DONT i earn my living from here and pay my own way.
