For those interested Jeff has posted on his blog today, with a review of the Fiesta.
I would like to say I agree with all he says.

I would like to know of anyone has a opinion on holding the Fiesta some where else on the Urb and give some of the other bars a turn of making some decent money to carry them through for a few winter months.
It's just a idea, only suitable place would be the market square but don't know how you would do it there with all the bars.
It has been in a number of different places over the years and they were rubbish.... where it is, is the best place. The other bars benefit quite well from people who do not want to be involved in the fiesta.
It was great this year. So please do not change a winning formula. Well done to Jeff and everybody who helped make it such a success.
The Fiesta itself will cause a problem, in just a few years time, If it keeps getting better each year ,and more advance info.is given out earlier.
The problem will be that the Venue that is used now may not be large enough. Pehaps this will mean Large screens on the strip, now that would solve a problem for where else to have it, We will have it in two places.(We can but Dream)
Itsmemw, you are right there is no better place to have the fiesta , it was a very enjoyable weekend just what la Marina needs. And would be nice again in the winter without the foam just entertainment.. But I disagree with you on other bars doing ok ... They don't to them it's like winter months , but I am not moaning it's good to see so many people enjoying themselves to decent entertainment I was there joining in and always will long may it continue .....
Alan.. What an excellent idea a big screen at supervalue one at plaza sierra castillo and one in the (grey) I hate that word area then everyone could be happy and all could enjoy Good thinking ....
I remember the previous council split the August fiesta between two venues, Consum car park and Plaza Sierra Castilla, perhaps to help more bars and restaurants on the Urb during the peak tourist period. There were no fireworks and there was a nominal 1 Euro charge for a portion of paella and a drink. As I remember everybody thoroughly enjoyed those fiestas too. It will be interesting to see what the total cost of this years fiesta is.
I don't think the money the bars made fiesta weekend will keep them through the winter. more like pay some bills and maybe have some wages for a change.
Trace burr, think you misread my comment, it meant to say the bars not involved in the fiesta weekend lose out fine not a problem nothing we can do about that, I just said that it was. Worse than the winter days when you have to get by and carry on , you for one should know how that feels......
Maybe I read duff info, but I thought La Marina had 2 Fiestas, one on the urb for the Brits and one in San Fulgencio for the Spanish.

Unusual for you electrons but you read dud information, San Fulgencio has two fiestas for Lady De La Paz (Lady of Peace) one held in San Fulgncio and the other on La Marina Urbs. The Council
as far as I know are not racist and do not separate the Spanish from the ex pats from other Countries,as far as I know people from all countries are very welcome to their Fiestas. Long may that idea live
Sorry, I thought that San Fulgencio had a Fiesta at the same time as La Marina. Sorry if I had it wrong.
