BEACHES IN EL PINET

STOCKPORT DAVE
Since you commented on the filth on our beaches from Guardamar pier to El Pinet I must say that in the area Hostal Galicia - El Pinet beach - the beach bungalows - and onward to Santa Pola is now immaculate!
It seems that every day after the beach tractor has done it's job a van with 3-4 workers turn up and they remove all residual litter etc.
Well Done!

I could not agree more. Walked this whole area last week with my Granddaughter. Not only were the beaches looking good, but there was no littler or rubbish to be seen. All I would say is people who want this to remain so should take their litter and rubbish home, not leave i t on the beach, then the task of cleaning would not be so great.

Thank you friendlyviking, I hope my "moaning" about the untidy state of the beaches, has helped in some way, but I doubt it.
It wasn't my intention to knock La Marina, I love it here, but i'm glad to hear the problem has been resolved.
You mentioned the beaches at El Pinet etc, but have the beaches from the Rio Segura , Playa de Rebollo, been cleaned yet ? I've not had the chance to check it out for a couple of weeks.

Come on my friend I picked the smallest beach in the area, 250 meters is my maximum walking distance, I have no intention of walking "miles" to check the cleanliness of the beaches.

After my last post, I decided to go for a walk on said Playa de Rebollo. I parked up at Costa 21 and walked through the pine forest, down to the beach. Turning right, I headed for the Rio Segura, about half an hours gentle stroll. I'm sorry to report, that not much has changed, ie. NOT BEEN SWEPT. There was some evidence that a tractor had been on the beach, probably to empty the few bins that there are, and for some strange reason, a few hundred metres long by 3 metres wide stretch.....wait for it.......the beach had been swept ! yeah. All I can think is, that on his way back, the driver, by accident, flicked a switch, then realised Oh, I shouldn't be doing this ! To further substantiate my claims, at the back of the beach, near the roped off area, there are weeds and grasses now growing amongst the cans and plastic bottles, which confirms that the whole width of the beach hasn't been combed for ages.
It was also sad to see at the waters edge, a partially submerged car tyre, yes, I kid you not.
I know La Marina beach comes under Elche Council, but I think the section of beach i'm talking about, comes under Guardamar, I may be wrong, but i'm sure you, or maybe Alan or Marko could put me right on this.

Sorry Dave, but not a clue as I come under Rojales, but, if Stockport is like Rochdale and reported fly tipping such as Tyres, you'd be charged £25 to remove. I think you need to appreciate what is done for your annual rates or should we compare Stockport rates?

I wonder where people from Rojales dump their tyres? Where is Rojales anyway? It is definitely not on my map of La Marina.

Try again Vik. Rojales is next to La Marina and where most of your visitors come to have a great time. Rojales council pick up our tyres and dump them on the beach

People enjoying themselves in Rojales? I must get over there!
Do they have many single men there?

Why is it on this forum that once a good thread is started, some people have to spoil it and put on stupid comments with no relation to the original thread. Why do some of you out there have to spoil it for others. Many use this site as a good supply of interesting facts. Others, and you know who you are, need help.

Sallyan, were you my Primary School teacher by any chance?

Sallyanne, If you think a comment does not follow the thread, I would let ASL know, Because about a week ago ,they stated that comments that did not follow the thread would be deleted

Thank you Alan, I will do just that. Everyone enjoys a good time and a joke. But sometimes, some people have forgotten to grow up. Many on here do a fantastic job letting people know good facts and Information.

Sorry I am a bit late with this Dave, But I don't know, which area this part of the beach comes under, but on thinking about it ,You could be right, about Guardamar

Commented Alan in La Marina 2013-08-20 12:47:09 UTC

Sorry to keep going on about this, but I found out some info this afternoon from Jose who owns the bar on Playa de Rebollo.
He said Elche Council are responsible for the beach all the way (and beyond) from El Pinet, La Marina up to Rebollo, then it comes under Guardamar.
He said they never clean it because there is nothing there, no businesses etc. So I was right, but I still think it's disgusting when there are lots of people on there, families with kids etc.
Finished now....i'm out.
