After 6 weeks worrying, too frightened to even go for a check up I went to the dentist today. I made a complete fool of myself, crying my eyes out in the chair, thats how frightened I am, but this lovely man not only inspected the tooth I wanted looking at, he gave the rest a quick check and gave me a painless injection and treated the tooth I wanted filling. When he'd done that and gained my confidence, he gave me a full check helped by his lovely assistant, explained what else he could do to help a 73 year old lady and I happilly made a further appointment. He comes with my full reccomendation and I doubt anyone could be as scared as I am. Give him a try

I hope he gave you a painless injection when you got the bill !!
He charged me 50 euros to re-fix a crown, took him all of 5 minutes !

if that's what it costs that's what it costs. You're paying for the expertise that these people have studied for for years You could have rung round for a quote. I'm just saying as a terrified coward he did the job and I'm not too frightened to go back.

I am afraid Paul has out priced himself, there is now a brand new dentist in the village with up to date modern equipment who is as good if not better than Paul and at a much better price.

I was an expert in my job, but I didn't charge 600 Euros an hour !!

It did not cost me one penny

Dave, I know I keep going on about Stockport, but how much would it cost to get your crown re-stuck there? Me thinks a tad more than €50, think yourself lucky

Marko,
think myself lucky ? What I don't get about dentist's is, if they did the job right in the first place, I wouldn't have to keep paying to have the job put right ! I was a joiner, and if I say, hung a door for you and sometime later the door was sticking (doors do swell and contract with heat and cold) I would come back and fix it for you FREE, not these jokers, ....no wonder they wear a mask !!

Dave, never argue with a dentist, especially when he's got pliers in your mouth. My UK NHS Dentist decided to go private and wanted £10 per month, just to be on his books.

marko
I bet that left you feeling down in the mouth..............see what I did there ?............i'm here all week....arf arf.

Dave,
I once restuck a crown in myself with superglue..... trust me, its better to get a professional to do it... Having said that, I think there is more skill in hanging a door, than drilling a hole in something and applying filler.

Correct marko, hanging a door is quite a skilled job. I wish all those years ago, I could have charged 10 Euros a minute, like dentists do.

Assuming we all have a dentist that we trust how about a simple rating test....?

Just answer the following 4 questions only, no comments, from 0 (horrible) to 10 (Perfect)

Dentists name, (not question) & Location( also does not count)

Value for money 0 - 10 ?

quality of work 0 - 10 ?

Did you feel comfortable in the chair? 0 - 10 ?

Would you go again and recommend to a friend ?
