LA MARINA BOWLS CLUB REPORT FOR WEEK COMMENCING 2ND DECEMBER 2013
Top team this week goes to the Seagulls and the sister team the Pathfinders. The Seagulls played at home on Friday to a very good Greenland’s Elms team sharing an honorable 7 point all draw, the winning trips Gina Hindle, John Morgan Skip Dave Hadaway: Bob Tew, Mo Barker Skip Arthur Cronk and Hazel Towers, Chris Green Skip Jim Freeman. On Monday the sister team the Pathfinders entertained La Siesta Sputniks at home managing a clean sweep winning 14 points to 0 winning trips Barbara Forshaw, Bernie Carr Skip Sue Daniels; Gina Hindle, John Morgan Skip Dave Hadaway: Hilary Cronk, Shelia Kirby Skip Bob Mallett: Bob Tew, Steve Hindle Skip Tom Edwards: Dave Freeman, Chris Green Skip Jim Freeman: Pam Morgan, Arthur Cronk Skip Dave Taylor.
The Dolphins had a mixed weekend losing away to Emerald Isle Cavaliers 4 points to 10 winning trips Jill Albutt, Mike Brain Skip John Albutt: Martin Butler, George Chambers Skip Brian Duff. The Sharks traveled away to Monte Mar on Friday coming away with a good 12 point to 2 win winning trips Andy Bartlett, Roy Hart Skip Graham Norris: Margaret McLaughlin, John Pryme Skip Jim Manning: Ron Maden, Peter Parsons Skip Alan Castle: Kathy Manning, Barry Sadler Skip Shirley Hadaway: Tom Spencer, Wendy Latham Skip Barry Latham. Unfortunately the sister team went down on Monday2 points to 12 away to San Luis Trekkers the only winning trip being all ladies Kathy Manning, Margaret McLaughlin and Skipped by Shirley Hadaway well done you showed the boys how to do it.
On Saturday we sent a team to Calpe to play the first leg of the Palamar Trophy after a good game we unfortunately are down at the end of the first half by 13 points, but with the second leg at home in Feb we have a good chance of winning overall.
Our Saturday Meat game was won by the trip of Allan Wilcock, Margaret McLaughlin ( a good week Margaret 3 wins ) and Skipped by Barry Latham.
