Police Speed Traps

Watch out for police speed traps down near the salt processing area going towards Santa Pola. They have been there all week. It's 60 kph through here. Not 80. They have unmarked cars. The car that sits by the sheds can detect you both ways, so don't be thinking it's one way only. Quiet often there is a vehicle up by Aqua Cars on the main drag. 40 kph here please.

Speed traps can be anywhere, i've seen them all over. Sometimes they're near the Tunnel near the Airport too.
I always stick to (or under) the limit, but you'll find another driver a few yards behind you trying to push you faster. They don't bother me, i'm not getting a ticket just because they're late !

No car in front of you if you keep the speed. You can enjoy the beautiful landscape.

Not quite that easy reindeer, If you are driving at the correct speed with no car in front of you, Surely you should still have your eyes on the road, cars are not the only things that use roads, people on foot and bicycles do to as well, and if there are no people about, you can bet your sweet life that someone is driving a few inches off of your rear bumper, so if you are the sort of driver who thinks driving within the speed limit you have nothing else to worry about, I guess that makes you just about as unsafe as a driver speeding. So stop looking at your speedometer and the landscape, keep your eyes on the road and look at what is behind you.

Alan, "look at what is behind you". Is that safe driving? I would rather look what's in front of me. Feels much safer. And "you" in my comment doesn't necessarily mean the driver. And if someone is driving a few inches off of my rear bumper he or she must have missed some driving lesson. And the driving license will lose some points (puntos) if he or she is stopped by the police. Not my problem.

Reindeer.
Cars have three mirrors, contrary to some peoples belief, these are not for people to put make up on or even to make sure your tie is straight, they are to see what is behind you at any given time .I am sure that if you are driving at a safe speed with nothing in front of you, odds are you a annoying the driver behind you, who will get your attention by tail gating you (this doesn't mean I agree with tailgaters) and you should make yourself aware that he is there and that when he does get to go passed you, you should be aware, because as sure as eggs is eggs, he will do a ridiculous manoevre to let you know that you pissed him off, and as you will be expecting something you can be ready to make a n unexpected move.
As for when you said 'you' who else in the car is keeping to a safe speed, except the person behind the controls, and if that aint the driver who is it

Alan, "who else in the car is keeping to a safe speed"? An answer to your question "who is it". Never heard about a so called co-driver? Very often a person and most often the wife on your right side.

Commented Robert in La Marina 2014-05-08 09:24:03 UTC

Robert, what qualifies you for being a wannabe?

Commented reindeer keeper in La Marina 2014-05-08 21:49:46 UTC

Hi Reindeer
Grow old gracefully,
I would love an intelligent conversation with you, but every time anyone makes you look a little silly, you take it to heart and try to start a silly dialogue

Commented Alan in La Marina 2014-05-09 11:17:17 UTC

Alan, "Cars have three mirrors, contrary to some peoples belief, these are not for people to put make up on or even to make sure your tie is straight,"
And this is not the start of a silly dialogue?
OK, I admit I don´t take everything to seriously. As some people do. No names mentioned!
But traffic-laws must be followed. By all and not just a by few. You can not chose what laws you like to follow.
And Robert I understand now that you are not a policeman.

Reindeer
My comment was obviously 'over your head' .

Commented Alan in La Marina 2014-05-09 13:36:54 UTC

Alan, you are obviously a tall person and as such it is easy to talk over someone's head.
Note!
That was a joke.
Maybe a bad joke but at least it was a try.

Or you could be a dwarf Reindeer. Sorry couldn't resist....

Reindeer,
You really didn't get it did you?.

Commented Alan in La Marina 2014-05-09 16:00:41 UTC

marko, I thought it was more polite to write that Alan was a tall person.
But now we have come a long way from "Police Speed Traps". And that was, I suppose, not what 1st Call Property Services SL had hoped would be the result of his/hers post.

Your right, we have come a long way since this thread was started, so to remind ourselves, what goes around comes around.
