Linda
At some time in the past, have you stated on here that you would be willing to house sit other peoples dogs, or something in that nature. If so that may be the reason for the e-mails from ASL.
They may of inadvertently thought that you were offering a full time service and may of accidently added your details on to the service section that they run alongside the ASL Forum. In case you were unaware how the system works. perhaps a word with Marko will make it sound clear. Until you are happy with the knowledge that you have with the services section of ASL, may I suggest you don't do anything at the moment and let all e-mails from ASL go to junk.

Don't bother Linda, I worked out that if there were five differing Air Con companies, each responding to one request for just an opportunity to quote for a service at €4 euros a pop, then four would lose out. There's nothing to stop me enquiring about your service and I've not even got a dog..... and yet you'll have paid €4 for me being nosey....

Thank you Alan and Marko, I have to my knowledge never added anything to the Service page, so I will take your advice and not click on any links sent through the email.

Plus the address is a mail drop. Suite 125 is probally the size of a shoe box. I wonder if anyone who pays actually gets a factura with IVA on it or VAT invoice?

I think you will find that the lead is only passed onto the company that the client is interested in Marko and not passed around to everyone.

You may be correct Paula, but another scenario is that if a punter wants a particular service from a particular company, they end up contacting ASL who then attempt to contact whichever Company the punter wants. For a reason unknown to the punter ASL cannot make that connection, so ASL contact a similar company and for a small fee (possibly going to Charity)they will give this company the phone number of the person who wants the service, ASL then phone the punter and tells them, the original company cannot be contacted or do not have time etc for more work, but ASL have contacted another similar Company or Companies, and they will contact the punter direct. I am not sure exactly how ASL work this system, but I am sure they don't do it for no reward.

You have made some good points Alan, and I am not sure what the best system is, I think at the end of the day that if the customer gets the service they want then they are happy and if the service makes a profit then they are happy.
I am sure a lot of these leads are not worth anything and the service that pays for it loses out on their 4€ but that's business.
The other option is to spend money on an advert and pay up front and hope it pays for itself, at least this way there is no investment and you can buy or not.
Just my thoughts and please people like Marko do not rip into me for having my own mind :-)

Paula, you should get three different quotes for everything...(and then choose me for A/C....). I've seen posts in the past along the lines of 'can't companies be bothered to reply, I thought there was a recession?', which infuriates me. It also saddens me that I personally know of one company where the owner died about four years ago. What would happen if his widow was getting continual emails offering him an exciting opportunity? The number quoted views is suspect as well.

A Spanish Life better start to get their act t

Not sure what your point is Marko if someone has died then when the time is right things like email addresses would be cancelled as I am sure a lot of us get lots of emails, it would be the normal thing todo.

Commented Paula in Quesada 2014-05-30 16:47:25 UTC

Wow Paula, to my knowledge I've never ripped into anyone for speaking their own mind. In fact, I'd go as far to say I've always encouraged it and stuck up for anyone being ripped into. I may have a 'different' sense of humor but I don't think that I've ever critised anyone.

A Spanish Life is entitled to anything they want. My main gripe is that the Services advert is quoting prices from me is still quoting prices that include 18% IVA which looks unprofessional on my part. I just want them deleted, it can't be that hard surely....

Commented marko in Quesada 2014-05-30 16:49:32 UTC

I am sure it's not hard, but maybe some of your comments in the past has rubbed them up the wrong way and they take no notice of you.

In one of you last post you say "they had better get their act together" and something about their views not being right
